We had a whole host of incredible guests last weekend – from R2D2 to a terrifyingly tall T-Rex! 🦖

Both Leeds Super Comicon and Jurassic Earth were a tremendous success with a packed house full of guests.

If you have visited the Royal Armouries recently you may have seen the awe-inspiring Knife Angel sculpture just outside the museum.

The sculpture stands 27ft tall and is crafted from 100,000 knives surrendered and collected by the police from across the UK.

It has toured the UK since 2017 to highlight the negative effects of violent behaviour and the need for change. Featuring messages from families of victims of knife crime, it also acts as a striking memorial designed to celebrate those lives who have been lost.

It is the National Monument Against Violence and Aggression and was created by the British Ironwork Centre, by the artist Alfie Bradley.
This monumental sculpture is lit up at night and can be accessed directly outside the museum in the Armouries Square.

The Knife Angel has been brought to Leeds through a partnership between West Yorkshire Police and Leeds City Council to send a powerful message and raise awareness about knife crime in the city.

The Knife Angel will be at the Royal Armouries Museum until the 29th of February.
