Here's a look back at a week full of events, announcements and new projects.

🍜 - First up announcing new food and drink experience is coming Leeds this spring from the team behind York-based craft brewery Brew York. The new concept venue will be called Brew + Bao: Chapel Allerton, a collaboration between Brew York and YUZU street food.

📸 - On Wednesday we invited regional content creators to experience the new packages and hospitality spaces at First Direct Arena. With the help of a full crew, we shot content for the upcoming advertising campaign, while guests enjoyed the new boxes, menu and the final show of The Wombats UK tour.

🎭 - We ended the week hosting a preview evening at The Glee Club Leeds welcoming hundreds of guests to experience the award winning new entertainment space with a fantastic roster of comedians, ahead of a sell-out opening.

Last night we invited regional content creators to experience the new packages and hospitality spaces at First Direct Arena.

A full crew was on site shooting content for the upcoming advertising campaign, while guests enjoyed the new boxes, menu and the final show of The Wombats UK tour.

Popular for its Asian fusion dishes YUZU has been serving Brew York customers across its York venues since 2019. Now the duo are bringing their unique flavours and high energy atmosphere to the people of Leeds in what will be the first venture under the brewery’s new ‘Brew+’

Busy start to the week announcing the hotly anticipated The Glee Club Leeds launch date and line up.

The award-winning nightspot will open the doors to its new Albion Street venue on Friday 28th March with a weekend of incredible comedy acts kicking off proceedings!

Among the opening weekend performers are BAFTA award winning comedian, Tom Davis; star of Live at the Apollo and multi-award winning, Brennan Reece; Irish comedian and star of Black Books Dylan Moran; stand-up comedian and host of Fin vs The Internet, Fin Taylor; and English actress, comedian and presenter Michelle De Swarte.

Leeds Pride 2025 are going BIG!

Organisers of Leeds Pride – one of the city’s largest festival weekends of the year and the biggest celebration of LGBTQ+ life in Yorkshire - have announced the first wave of acts performing at the 2025 event this summer, on Sunday 20th July.

Headlining the main stage will be chart-topping band Liberty X who will be performing their biggest hits alongside pop sensations, the Cartoons and live from the West end, Queenz the show. Also joining them will be popular dance music artists, Kelly Lorena and B***y Luv.

To announce he details, we hosted the official Leeds Pride pre-festival launch at Harvey Nichols, Fourth floor Brasserie.

The Glee Club will be opening its sixth UK venue on Albion Street, and will offer a fantastic weekly programme of comedy, live music and entertainment.

Established 30 years ago, The Glee is the leading operator of comedy venues in the UK. It opened its first venue in 1994 in a purpose-built venue outside of London and has since become renowned for quality live comedy alongside live music, cabaret, and special events.

We’re super excited to start work on the launch campaign and will be revealing more details very soon 🎭

Popular Leeds café and bar brand Residence Cafe & Bar has announced plans to expand with a new outlet in Moortown, North Leeds and a new day-to-night concept. This will be the third location for the popular eatery which already operates thriving cafés in Headingley and Cookridge.

Residence Moortown aims to blend the comfort of a coffee shop with the sophistication of an evening cocktail bar. Customers can expect ethically sourced coffees, home baked goods, mouth-watering breakfasts and delicious brunch dishes.

Alongside this, its new evening concept will create an atmosphere that takes the bar from relaxed daytime vibes to an elegant and lively nighttime venue with freshly made pizzas and expertly crafted cocktails by skilled bartenders.

They say laughter is the best medicine and comedy lovers in Leeds are now in for an extra dose from the city’s best-loved and longest established comedy club.

The Hifi Club Comedy Club, which has been running its hugely popular show every Saturday night since 2001, is now adding a new Saturday afternoon performance to its schedule.

“We want to change things up a bit and bring some laughter to even more people with our Saturday afternoon sessions. "
