❓🙋‍♀️Question: Why did you become a Celebrant Ruth?
Ever wondered what makes someone become a wedding celebrant? For me, it all started with a love for weddings, and having organised my Mums wedding a few years ago I felt I really wanted to develop an alternative career in the wedding industry. TBH it was Celebrancy or Floristry 🌹. But a Celebrant I became!!
I also ❤️ a good story and I believe that every love story is unique and deserves to be celebrated in a way that truly reflects the couple. Whether it’s a romantic, heartfelt ceremony or something fun and unconventional, I love crafting moments that are meaningful and memorable. I’m also a firm believer in CHOICE and couples shouldn’t just have the choice of a registrar or a minister of faith ceremony.
Being a celebrant isn’t just about standing at the front and reading words. It’s about connection, storytelling, and making sure each couple feels seen, heard, and celebrated. It’s the best job in the world! After completing my training with I did my first wedding in July 2023 for the gorgeous . One of the best days of my life! Perfect couple ❤️❤️ 📸

Ceremony Today! The first of 2025! It’s another couple of firsts for me! The first and my first couple booked Wedding Show! Katie and Daniel are a gorgeous couple and I have loved sneaking into their lives to craft their ceremony today. As always it’s a huge privilege to play a part in such an important day in people’s lives. Hopefully the ceremony I have crafted reflects the warmth, humour, love and down to earth qualities of this couple. I’m still in awe of people who make this commitment to each other and finding the right words and ways of communicating and celebrating that is what I LOVE ❤️📸

I am in final draft writing mode today for K & D’s wedding in early February. Happy Anniversary Mr & Mrs Steed! This was the wedding that I organised for my Mum and her husband Mike. It was a joy from start to finish and it’s what inspired me to become a Celebrant. Although as a Celebrant I now JUST ‘do’ the Ceremony this one I did almost everything from finding the venue, sourcing the photographer (shout out to the gorgeous @zoeharrisphotography) cake maker and making all the floral arrangements, as well as giving the toast, oh and compiling the reception playlist! I LOVED it. But it was for my Mum, and my love for her is immeasurable. Happy Anniversary guys. Love you ❤️

As a Celebrant I get to indulge my passion for books and the written word. Finding new poetry, prose or verse to bring those personal and reflective moments to a ceremony can be really satisfying. I have just discovered ‘The Life That I Have’ written by Leo Marks for a girl named Ruth who he was in love with who tragically died.
