It’s been lovely to welcome so many new followers to our account and we can’t wait to share some of the wedding projects we have supported with you.

You may know us for our love of flowers but did you know that we also have additional services which we offer.

Based in Leicestershire Niche Flowers is a Weddings & Events company headed up by Nisha & Kam Mistry. We offer a luxury wedding & event planning experience. Our team work with you to focus on the intricacies, attention to all the detail to create flawless events.

Our creativity and passion for all things floral allows us to develop fresh concepts and exquisite designs, portraying the clients we work with.

As a couple we compliment one another as we focus on your to dos as you embark on your I dos. Kam with his background in project management delivers a high end planning service, executing the bespoke design journey. It’s about bringing your personality to the forefront of your event with beautiful settings, flamboyant designs and only the best hand picked suppliers.

Between the two of them they have in excess of 20 years wedding industry experience.

PLANNING FOR AN EVENT AT HOME

Whether it’s pre wedding events or even your main wedding ceremony, if you’re planning your event here’s our list of things to consider:

ACCESS: Can guests and suppliers access the event with ease?

AMENITIES: Can suppliers utilise sources of electric or water to make the event seem less? Can guests access washrooms with ease?

WEATHER: Will your chosen location give you an indoor/outdoor option?

TRANSPORT: How will guests be able to park conveniently?

NEIGHBOURS: Remember to communicate to your neighbours to gently advise that there will be an event - this can be a note or it can be a visit in person

HAIR & MAKE UP: Is there adequate lighting and space to comfortably get ready with your bridal party?

CEREMONY: Remember if you’re having a wedding at home to have a marriage ceremony in England or Wales, your venue needs to have a marriage license in order for you to tie the knot legally, so you’re not technically able to have an official ceremony in your front room. It is possible to apply to the council for temporary license however put this in advance to know you’re going to get the necessary permission

SECURITY: Consider having this to manage any uninvited guests; they’ll ensure especially if your home is an open house during the event that no additional visitors trespass

CLEAN UP: Plan for cleaners to clean up between events and also after the event

Why is this so important? So here’s the low down - you go to see a venue, the venue gives you a quote and confirms the capacity they can hold and you book them!

Factors we don’t take in consideration is how many guests will it comfortably hold once we have the decor in place. In a South Asian Wedding this may mean fitting in a Mandap or fitting in a stage set up for the couple to take their vows on could eat into guest numbers

DO I NEED A WEDDING DAY COORDINATOR?

We frequently get asked by couples why they need a coordinator:

Not all couples can invest in a full-service wedding planner or require a full wedding planning service and though couples work on planning their wedding as the day approaches they need someone to execute the details

A wedding coordinator is not someone who just works your day they work with you on the lead up to your wedding. We work from 6 weeks before your wedding day.

COORDINATING YOUR WEDDING DAY

Weddings are beautiful events to plan and celebrate. Couples can take so much of the planning process on but there comes a time when all the suppliers, guests and the last few admin bits need to be handed over to someone you can trust to deliver your day as you planned it. For us this point in time should be no less than 6 weeks before your event.

We work with you to facilitate how your suppliers will deliver, what you expect your day to be in the form of the itinerary; handling guest questions; supplier needs too and making sure everything runs smoothly and seamlessly.

STARTING YOUR WEDDING PLANNING:

There are lots of platforms, aides and tools out there but with so many to choose from where do you begin?

After all your wedding is unique to the two of you so here are our top three things to get you started:

- Set the date: With 2024 being a leap year there’s a lot of choice and from what we’ve heard it’s an auspicious year to tie the knot!
- Make a list of all the guests you would like to have at your wedding - stick to the numbers as this will help you set a budget and stick to it
- Make a list of your 3 non negotiables: for example Venue, Catering, Flowers or it could be Date, Priest, Decor. Whichever these are, start to budget the maximum you’re prepared to spend on these areas.
