As business owners and managers in a cost of livng crisis, still trying to keep our heads afloat from the devastating blow of covid, we have decided after seeing certain comments over social media we would like to have our say. We will not sugar coat the fact that comments have disheartened us, as it would of been nice to just have been told this ourselves rather then seeing it over social media but I guess thatโs the world we live in now. We are not perfect and never claim to be so unfortunately things happen sometimes out of our control but we are just trying our best. We apologise that we did not make our locals aware of a private function on Saturday, via social media until the morning of the function. However we did have signs posted within within our outside windows for the past 5 days, as not all of our locals use social media. At the moment these functions are keeping us going. Monday and Tuesdays we always keep shut especially now in the winter months, the amount of foot fall we have in comparison to staff wages and bills simply is not worth it and we are sorry for that. Wednesday the weather was so terrible one of our staff members car was not working and the other member who kindly offered to come in would of have to take two bus journeys in the bad weather there and back, again we apologise for this but it is just one of them unfortunate things. I will say again on nights like that would it be worth us opening with the foot fall against our outgoings. Thursday we had a problem in our cellar that was fixed by 5oclock but we still needed time for the machine to settle for the beer to flow through and taste how it should!
Again we apologise for any inconvenience we may have caused to anyone but we are just simply trying our hardest in very hard times as I imagine many small business owners are.
Going forward we will ensure messages are relayed through social media as we are now aware itโs seen by many!!
Any recommendations or suggestions in helping us as a bar are welcome :)
Regards the managing team of The Belfair
