If you’re in the area, do come along to see our partnership with a wonderful community project serving children and young adults with additional needs across Brighton, Hove and Shoreham. We’re thrilled to be joining our partners St Nicholas Secondary School - Southend today for a fully staged production of Moana. The production will take back to Southend the incredible creative and performance work the young people from St. Nicholas achieved with Pro Corda in mid June, and to showcase their talents to family, carers, and members of the local community.
For a sneak peek, listen to the school song we wrote and produced with them during their Create Together Pro Corda week - an absolute stunning achievement - at https://bit.ly/sailingsailing

Thank you to our full house audience who joined us for our Fish and Chips Concert on Saturday night. The “Music of the English Countryside” theme visited the south coast of Cornwall with Nigel Hess’s idyllic score for “Ladies in Lavender” via the rich textures of Finzi to a live performance of Andrew’s piano album all about Suffolk, written as a fundraiser during lockdown.
You can catch Dominic and Andrew in action next on 20th July for “Summer Romance” (to include Beethoven and Elgar). Book now at procorda.com/events

The sun's rays gave the Abbey just that extra glow of magic for June’s Piano Sanctuary Retreat. Here’s what some of our participants had to say about the weekend: “The warm hospitality and expert guidance made every moment not only a learning experience but a cherished memory” - Perrine. “An amazing and inspirational weekend – I’m still on a high. I can’t believe I went from never having played in front of anyone to leading an Amy Winehouse singalong!” - Kate.

This weekend also saw one of our new chamber music course get-together days for existing members of Pro Corda. Strong friendships are at the heart of Pro Corda courses, and these days form a chance to catch up with friends in between courses, plus enjoy some more great music-making. The venue for Saturday was the stunning 1901 Arts Club in London with creative and repertoire sessions joining pizza on the menu! As one parent said at the end, "I can’t believe what was achieved in just a few hours."

After over 1,500 miles in two weeks, we visited the last Pro Corda Festival Qualifying Round venues yesterday, in the Midlands and South Coast. What an artistic adventure its been! We’ve met so many extraordinary young musicians and personalities across the largest Festival to date. There are many pressures on UK music education right now, but this fortnight has been a reminder of the wonderful young talent out there and all that can be done. The Semi-Finals start in London on Monday 19th February as we then build up to the National Final on 17th March. All announced semi-finalists can be found at procorda.com/festival
