Supper is a 3 course delicious feast of Trinbagonian Christmas. David's Cafe is a very cool venue in Letchworth Garden City, SG6. Only 30 minutes on the train from London so very accessible.

The Menu includes:

Welcome drink of bubbles

Starter - Cheese canape followed by soup

Deformity is difficult to live with for many reasons. The pain is nothing new but feeling so uncomfortable about your body is a new challenge and modifying what you wear to conceal it influences your choice of clothes.

NoFollowers may recall that 2 years ago I had spinal fusion which unfortunately left me with nerve damage on my opposite leg and needed correcting last year. Unfortunately I've had the news that my metal implant has fused to my pelvis causing my spine to bend further in the wrong direction and my hips are very out of line.

So today is another chapter in what has often been described as terribly unlucky for me. I am now officially an orthotic wearer to raise my right leg to the level of my left leg to attempt to prevent further deterioration while we await news of what further surgery I can consider, most reluctantly I add. Luckily if I wear my flat boots I can slip one of my raisers in and carry on as 'normal'.

But today I came to collect my first pair of shoes which have been raised specifically to give more options and if they work, I'm allowed two more this year. I have shopping to do ...2 new pairs of trainers make for exciting shopping.

And I won't lie, it has gotten me down. My movements are so reduced by my condition. My activities especially with my children are restricted. The way I make our products has been revised BUT I am encouraged by all the love and support from everyone who knows me and I am determined to carry on.

I've not been as visible while dealing with this and recovering from another nasty COVID but I'm beginning to feel good again.

As my husband says....the glass is half full.
