Thursday 10th Oct | We’re Not Going Back | 7.30pm
75 Mines. 3 Sisters. 1 Cause. (And a six-pack of Babycham)
2024 is the fortieth anniversary of the 1984/85 miners’ strike, a dispute that still resonates today. But the strike wasn’t just about pickets vs police – in this hard-hitting musical comedy there are no miners and no cops. Instead, we follow the fortunes of three sisters in a pit village, hit hard by the Government’s war against the miners and determined to set up a branch of ‘Women Against Pit Closures’.
Early 1984, and Olive, Mary and Isabel are sisters whose everyday squabbles collide with a strike that forces them to question their lives, their relationships and their family ties.
This strike wasn’t just a war fought on the battlegrounds of picket line, Parliament and public opinion. It was as much a battle in the homes and families of those fighting for their communities.
We’re Not Going Back tackles the resilience of working communities, the make-and-mend fabric of family and the power of sticking two fingers up to a government hell-bent on destruction… and all with humour, song and a six pack of Babycham.
Babes... it's only bloody bingo time again!
Join us this Saturday night for balls, bubbles and best times with your gal pals.
Don't forget your lippy, hun, we're going out-out! 💋

Ana has been on a journey. Croatian born, she’s arrived in the UK, determined to make it home. As she focuses on life in this new land, she is haunted by the voice of her Grandma- calling for her to stay true to national identity and yearning for Ana to come home. As Grandma bakes her traditional Croatian pepper biscuits (believed to bring a loved one back home), will this be enough to be reunited with her granddaughter? But what is “home” to Ana now?
“A warm and gentle show, it captures the transient and precarious nature of life as an immigrant in the UK in the current climate” – The Stage ★★★★
Written by Croatian playwright, Kristina Gavran, and performed by Croatian actor, Tina Hofman, Pepper & Honey is a poignant, subtle and timely play about the journey of change, cultural differences, and the conflict between upholding the traditions of the “old country” and embracing those of the new.
Thurs 9th May | Pepper and Honey | 8pm
