It’s@pollenmarketsheffield this Sunday. I’m really looking forward to meeting everyone and talking flowers as always. The run up is always a bit manic!

We are due a frost here next week, so I’m making sure to pick the last of the flowers. The colours of summer flowers are so vibrant and beautiful. I also made sure to pick the last of the seed heads that I want to grow again next year. These look so sad and damp, but hopefully they will dry out successfully.

At this time of year when the flowering season is coming to an end, why not spoil yourself and cut whatever you have in your garden. Fill your house with a fiesta of bright colours. It’s really lifted my spirits.

Please excuse my photos. The light levels here are not ideal. All the same, I have just added some lovely new products to my website. See the link in my bio. All the flowers in my pressed flower pieces were grown here this spring and autumn. I’m currently working on autumn pieces and designing a range for Christmas.

Now that the weather is definately becoming damper, I’m taking every opportunity to pick flowers on dry days for pressing and drying. It’s best that flowers are picked when they’re dry otherwise they will turn brown. I love all of the dahlias and zinnias that are still going strong. They’re each and every one so pretty. It’s lovely to be able to preserve them.

It’s officially Autumn!!!!!!

I’m so excited to be taking part in birthday celebrations. I was up super early this morning picking the best of my flower crops. The flower stars this month are Chinese lanterns and Zinnia’s. So beautiful! Throughout the summer I have been picking flowers for pressing, and I’m so pleased to be able to offer some gorgeous flower greetings cards. I hope to see you tomorrow. The market is open between 10am and 4pm.

Some beauties picked this morning heading for the flower press.
