Lincolnshire Rural Support Network

Following active surveillance in the East Riding of Yorkshire Temporary Control Zone (TCZ), has been confirmed on a new premises in North East Lincolnshire.

The 20km Temporary Control Zone has been extended. Keepers of cattle, sheep, camelids and other ruminants must remain vigilant and follow the restrictions on animal and germinal product movements that apply. Today, we proudly support , a day dedicated to showcasing the relentless dedication of our farmers. They work tirelessly to produce the high-quality food that graces our tables, care for the land to ensure a sustainable future, and pour their heart and soul into their work. is a national campaign in the UK that takes place annually to highlight the vital role of farmers and the agricultural industry in producing food and managing the countryside. It is organised by Farmers Guardian and sponsored by Morrisons The campaign runs for 24 hours, during which farmers across the country share their daily experiences on social media, giving the public a glimpse into what goes into producing the food we eat and maintaining the land.

At the Lincolnshire Agricultural Society, we aim to promote food, farming, sustainability and the environment so this campaign is something we are very passionate about! The image we have used is one of many from the Grand Parade at this year's Lincolnshire Show. It is quite something to see all the different breeds and categories of animals in our Main Ring.

At the Lincolnshire Show, we proudly announced eight awards for the LAS Schools’ Challenge, judged across eight categories: Early Years, Small, Medium, and Large Primary, Secondary 1, Secondary 2, Special Schools, and Bee-utiful Gardens. But that’s not all! We also have two post-Show awards to celebrate...

🏆 Peoples’ Choice Award 🏆
First introduced last year, this award encourages the public to visit the challenge at The Lincolnshire Show, engage with schools, and learn about their hard work. This year, we received an incredible 904 public votes! Our 57 school entries impressed everyone with their creativity, from offering recipes and food samples to seed packets, quizzes, and games. A huge congratulations to Butterwick Pinchbeck's Endowed Church of England Primary School for receiving the highest number of public votes. Their Year 5 students shone in the Growing Resilience challenge, confidently sharing their insights and engaging with visitors.

🎉 Best Newcomer Award 🎉
A brand-new award this year recognises the bravery of first-time participants. Out of the 57 schools, 20 joined for the first time. We applaud Demeter House School, a Lincolnshire special educational needs and disabilities school, for winning this award. Their display was both engaging and informative, and the students did an outstanding job presenting their school garden developments.

👏 A massive well done to ALL the students, staff, and schools involved. Your hard work and dedication truly shine through! We look forward to welcoming you all back next year! 👏
