⭐ After introducing Kristie, I thought I'd share a bit more about myself and my background and why I'm so passionate about our collaboration sessions with Fish Makaton Training.
I am an Assistant Educational Psychologist with 16 years of experience working in the special education sector supporting children and young people with a range of neurodiversities and SEND. My experience includes facilitating play sessions, emotional regulation support and adopting relational approaches and Trauma informed Practices within my work. I also have a lived experience of Autism through my wonderful son. I am Makaton trained to Level 4 and hope to provide a much-needed support for both parents and the children in the sessions. ⭐

📣 Introducing Kristie the partner in our inclusive communication sessions 📣

Kristie is passionate about all things communication (and cake!!) Kristie has spent the last 14 years in a Speech and Language Therapy team supporting children and young adults with Autism. Kristie has a keen interest in supporting communication in early years settings and currently works in partnership with the Early Years Alliance, Speech and Language UK and Course Beetle as well being a Makaton Tutor.

Kristie loves creating a fun, immersive, multisensory environment for learning and will be on hand in all of our ‘Inclusive communication’ sessions to facilitate communication, whatever your child’s needs and abilities using a wide variety of communication approaches. She will also lead our sensory story time at the beginning of each session. As a Makaton tutor, she will be modelling the use of Makaton throughout and will also be around for a cuppa and the occasional piece of cake towards the end of each session to chat with parents and carers too.
