Our 2013 Youth coach Ellie Tennyson attended the prestigious Lisburn Castlereagh Council Sports Award 2024 and lifted the Alison Slater Junior Merit Award for her many years contribution to Lisburn Rangers Boys Academy. Many congratulations to Ellie on her award 👏

2015 youth took on Hillsborough 2016 on a 9 a side pitch this morning which was a hard game.

We started really brightly heading into a 2 goal lead through great strikes from Theo before Hillsborough pulled one back. In the second half we scored through Joshua before Hillsborough again pulled us back.

Joshua scored two more goals, one a lovely free kick and the other a beautiful team goal to see us in the lead. We let our heads drop after a few calls from the ref and let Hillsborough back in ultimately losing.

MOTM went to Jakey, tremendous kicking and a couple of cracking saves in the big nets.

The boys had a lot of new things to contend with in the pitch size, goal size & switched to a new formation but we learn & move on.

2015 Colts played Crewe today.

It had taken us a little while to get into the game this morning. After a little instruction we got straight to it and started to play some top quality football.

Our midfield and forwards played some great passes which lead to a some amazing goals. Our defence was top notch this morning with Captain Robert giving some good instruction to his team mates.

2016s battled back to draw with Glendowan in a spirited encounter. Glendowan took an early lead with two well-taken goals, but the 2016s responded with determination. Jude scored a powerful rocket into the bottom corner and Quinn made a surging run before finishing with precision to level the match.

Sonny was the hero in nets, producing a string of incredible saves to keep his side in the game, while Jonathan's defensive work, including key tackles and forward runs was cruMoongelato team spirit was outstanding with both sides showing great effort and sportsmanship throughout the match.

The 2016 Colts put a superb display on against a great Andersontown Community side.

We started the game well, good movement and passing by the attackers and we had some early chances. ⚽️

Our defence was well organised today with James, Bodhi and Luca all outstanding. 🥅

2011 Youth - On to the final we go 😃

It was a real cup game feel this morning at Wallace Park as the boys yet again played a cup game against Ridgeway Mill.

The boys started the game with great intent, pressing the ball at every opportunity. The pressure soon paid off when a Kobi throw was picked up by Noah, who smashed his shot in at the near post.

Ridgeway started to settle into the game, creating opportunities, but the Rangers' backline held solid.

Matthew was soon called into action, as he made one of many saves on the day; with a fantastic 1v1 save.

The 2nd half saw several changes as Rangers looked to retain the ball in the opposition half and some fantastic work by Rees and Riley, allowing the midfield into the game.
The space was soon exploited by JackG, who was brought down in the box for a penalty. The Ridgeway keeper made a great save from the resulting pen, but Jude was alert to the rebound with a great finish.

Ridgeway kept pushing and were awarded a penalty in the last minute. But up stepped Matthew again, making a great save to his left.

2 games in the 1 day was a tough ask but we didn't let the 1st result get us down. The boys showed great character to go out & book a spot in the Supplementary Sheild Final 🏆

It was an excellent controlled display by the 2011 Youth boys this morning.

They kept the ball for much of the game and never allowed the opposition to settle.

The opening goal came from an excellent JackG corner with Callum providing the final touch inside the box.
The boys kept pushing as Mason was causing lots of issues down the left-hand side, supported by a very impressive Jude from left back.

They grabbed a 2nd before half time when Rees used his blistering pace to beat the back line and slot past the keeper.

The 2nd half saw a flurry of changes, and boys kicked on with once again dominating the ball. Several corners and missed chances didn't dampen the spirits, and they were soon rewarded when Noah placed a lovely shot past the keeper for the edge of the box.

A very solid team performance with every player playing their part.

Well done to all the boys, and best of luck to Newry for the rest of the season.

It was an early morning start for our 2015 Colts team who played against Moira Colts.

We started extremely well this morning and managed to stamp our authority in the game very quickly.

Elijah banged the first goal within a few minutes of play. This was the foundation we needed to play great football and great football we played.

Every position played so well, it was such an incredible experience to just watch them do their thing.

Amazing communication from our defence which led to us not conceding any goals 💪🏼👏🏼

We kept our shape and discipline for the majority of the match and didn’t get complacent when we had a commanding lead.

Our midfield and forward partnerships worked so well and really set a brilliant standard today.

2016 youth played against Newtonbreda at Stanley park. The junior blues were their own worst enemies today providing Newtownbreda with opportunities in front of goal. However everyone of them did very well in the final 3rd of the game getting 2 well deserved goals. More to go over in training but everything coming on nicely.

Shout out to Jacob, had a very good game in his new favourite position in defence. Also Jonathon has settled into our team superbly & had a very impressive debut even netting his first goal.

2016 Colts faced off against a strong Carryduff team.

From the kick off, the wee Blues were relentless. The progression from goalkeeper to attack was superb, with impressive work rate and creativity in midfield, and our attackers’ finishing was the best we’ve seen all season. 💙

2011 Colts played against Dunmurry today.

Another slow start for the boys today, very quiet 1st half performance, lucky to get in at half time with the score only at 2-2!

2nd half was a different story with most of the game being played in Dunmurrys half. The boys dominated and created chance after chance.

The Men of the Match were Robin and Lucas. Robin’s overall performance was fantastic in both half's & Lucas was the driving force in the 2nd half and was involved in every play going forward.

Lisburn Rangers Youth 2012s played their final 9 aside game against Camlough this morning.

The lads started well and battled hard from the off. They were unlucky to lose an early goal but they continued to battle away against a physical opponent. Tom was unlucky with a well driven shot that the keeper got his fingers to and pushed it wide. We also hit the bar as well.

Second half we came out strong and continued to push for an equaliser and again hit the bar but against the run of play we lost a second goal.

Elliot made some good saves and the defence kept the opposition to only 2 shots in the second half as our midfield and forwards pushed for the goal that they deserved but it was not to be today.

Overall not the way we wanted to sign off in our league campaign but we look forward to playing 11 aside from next week on.

An early morning game for the 2013 youth against a strong Oxford Sunnyside. It was crucial that we picked up some sort of points this morning as we aim to remain in the top 4 by Christmas. The pressure was on us this morning and with lots of nerves we were 2-0 down with Sunnyside scoring 2 quick goals. We responded well with 2 goals 1 on 1 goals from Harry and Abdul. Half time we were 3-2 down so a big second half was needed. Again it was Sunnyside who came out guns blazing taking a 5-2 lead. Hard fight and good team work we brought the game back to 5-4 with Carter and Brodie grabbing a goal each. In the dying minutes of the game a superb ball played down the right found Carter who drove into the box and found the far corner of the net. A hard fought point and an amazing game for the neutral.

Tonight our 2013 colts played Downshire.
Our match got switched last minute to Colin Glen, which caused abit off confusion & also asked to play 7 aside on the smaller pitch but we got the ref to allow us to play 9 aside which actually suited us. The pitch was tight an short so this meant we had to play short passes & our movement had to be right.
Throughout the game we created so many great chances & scored some lovely goals.
Defensively an attacking wise we were fantastic, every single player performed tonight. Well done jack scoring his first goal👏👏

The 2015 Youth team kicked off their new league against Hillsborough boys colts in the dome tonight.

Hillsborough started the brighter of the two teams and took the lead mid way through the first half. Our boys then took charge more to end the first half and were on the front foot for the 2nd half drawing a number of good saves from the keeper.

Ethan Martin kept his cool scored a well taken equaliser and we pushed hard for a winner striking the crossbar twice but it was sadly not to be as the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

We were without Callum and Zac tonight who were definitely missed. Massive thanks to Mason who we borrowed from the colts and was dynamic and really positive down the left for us.

POTM went to Mylo who played every outfield position tonight and work his socks off. Some brilliant tackles and some strong driving runs.

Looking forward to the new league and what's sure to be a lot of learning experiences for us all.

2014 Youth entered in a game that had plenty of goals to show.

A slow start made getting back into the game difficult but we didn’t let our heads drop at any stage after conceding. Shortly after a few combinations were made the boys started to pick up confidence netting 3 goals in a matter of minutes.

One goal in particular from Adam demonstrated pure class from his own half guiding it into the top left corner 🚀

POTM Isaac had some great combinations with Ryan, and battled hard for every ball.
