Customer wanted something to compliment her husband's red stone.

We went for a gorgeous blend of purple & soft yellow as this was both unusual but striking

As a small business, it's fantastic when you have to go back on Monday to alter the window display you did on Friday because somebody bought your items!! Happy dance!!

Today's design is a sustainable wreath. .

Made on a straw base bound with string & using only natural materials plus organza bow. .

Think I may add a few conkers before hanging on my door 🤔

Certificates have arrived at college - was brilliant as a few of the girls got higher grades than they were originally told - so proud of everyone.

Cake toppers today in college. .
Didn't realise there were so many rules as to what should & should not be used..

Definitely, no poison ivy & gyp stuck straight into the cake!!

Absolutely loved seeing the entries for this funeral design piece - every competitor brought something different and each piece is amazing

So truly exception work & techniques. .

Pictures to illustrate their work (not my work - wish it was! )

Also spoke to the lovely Tina Pound who made the seasonal willow heart & she talked me through her design & mechanics she used. .

Really enjoyed learning so much from fleurex

I had such an amazing time at Fleurex 2024..

Highlights for me were:
▪︎ watching the fabulous demonstrations - both in the theatre and also in the flower lab. Learnt loads & definitely inspired me
▪︎ meeting 2 of my idols - Lisa Paulsson (2nd in Interflora world cup 2023) & Lizzie Newcombe (3rd in interflora world cup 2023) & chatting to them - both really lovely women & both are now following me & my work - how amazing is that??
▪︎ entering my 1st competition & getting good marks & great feedback & support
▪︎made loads of new flowery friends

Got loads of hints, tips & great advice that I'll be trying out - definitely the pipe cleaners, the magnets may be bit too advanced for me yet!

Thank you to everyone who took time to talk to me, support me & generally make it an enjoyable weekend

Lovely wander (try 5 mile hike!!) around Croxteth Country Park today with college.

Was great fun & very educational as we were constantly asking our tutor... what is this tree/flower/grass/weed???

Loved this design... simple funeral sheaf

We could choose from a range of flowers & I kept mine simple with 2 varieties of sunflowers 🌻 plus solidago, thalaspi & cypress

I'm happy with it & my mum loved it as 'sunflowers for her son'

Two full days in college & we learnt so much..

More attempts at Form Linear - this time using moss balls in the hand tie and moss covering in the arrangement in medium.

Personally , I quite like the form linear design in the medium (2nd picture) but really struggled with the handtie..

It's been a very steep learning curve, but our tutor and the support we have in college (both from technicians & our classmates/flowery friends) are amazing , so I'm learning through trying
