This weekend marks the opening of Wild Hearts,a captivating exhibition by UK photographic artist Esther Towler at Ebor Studio. Known for her stunning black-and-white photography, Esther immortalises the raw, untamed beauty of wild horses, a powerful symbol of freedom, spirit, and grace.

Her unique creative process combines emotive photography with the ancient encaustic technique, blending beeswax and damar resin to produce textured, ethereal pieces that truly bring her subjects to life.

This month, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting another fabulous local group in Gallery Frank for one of their annual festive gatherings.

A huge thank you to all the lovely ladies from Littleborough Tangent for joining us to create their beautiful no-sew Christmas baubles.

It was such a joyful and creative evening—filled with festive spirit, laughter, and sparkle. We always love having you here! 🎄✨

Even when the days have turned a little grey and that winter chill is in the air I think we can all agree that Ebor Studio and our most recent billboard looks fabulous?

Milk Thief by

For years my parents have been trying to catch a milk thief who each night has been opening one milk bottle in the night in an attempt to steal their milk. This is a creature tactile enough to open the foiled lid completely, but not enough to drink much more than a teaspoon of the milk. It is clever enough never to be caught, but too skittish not to cover their tracks. After placing a camera at the back door, my parents discovered that it could be badger, crow, or rodent, we are still none the wiser as to who it is.

Last night marked the opening of The Land That Has Fallen Within You, featuring Ebor member

This thought-provoking work explores the boundaries between our bodies and the landscapes around us, blurring time and place to create pathways into new realities and mirrored perspectives. At a moment when humanity often views itself as separate from the wider ecology, this piece reminds us of our deep connection to the natural world—past, present, and future.

By weaving sounds from diverse sources, The Land That Has Fallen Within You becomes a tapestry of intersecting fibres: nature, technology, and heritage. Beneath the autumnal light of Blackstone Edge Moor, the echoes of machinery, contemporary life, and voices of the past converge in a seemingly unchanging constant.

It’s been wonderful to see our space come alive recently, welcoming even more artists from across the borough. We’ve been collaborating with some fantastic groups to host artist talks and workshops, creating a vibrant, engaging environment.

Ebor Studio Group is a collective of 28 artists based in a historic, four-story Victorian mill in Littleborough, Rochdale. Our members collaborate on group projects, take on commissions, and partner with other organizations to bring creative projects to life.

We’re currently seeking a professional artist or designer who is eager to contribute to our collective and grow their own practice.

**Studio 1** is a 3x3m ground-floor space, shared with one other artist. It features hardwood floors, a large window for natural light, and full accessibility, including an accessible restroom.
