Spent a perfect hour and a half with Sophie at .liverpool having the Cosmic Dance treatment. I had to wait until my eye surgery was further along in the healing process to book back in so it felt like I hadn’t been for ages!

I always forget that Sophie makes her own blend of herbal teas (even though she serves them at every appointment!) and I noticed today that she’s made candles! They all smelled AMAZING so I picked some up tea & candles today as stocking fillers and I’ve ordered more for when I’m back later this month.

Highly recommend the candles, teas & treatments (vouchers available!) - they make amazing gifts & it’s a win for supporting a small businesses.

She deserves a carousel post on the grid too as she’s so pretty (& I’m very proud of making this!) 🕸️😍😂

This design is now safely with her owners and will be installed in a porch door accompanied by 6 panels that have also been created in a spiderweb style. Very excited to get photos in situ!

I’ll be taking on more commissions like this in the new year when I’ve worked my way through the wedding seasons pressed frames and we are back from our trip to New York. So if you’re interested in having your own internal window designed then get in touch.

I won’t be making this specific design again as it’s a custom order for these clients but I’m happy to work on something that suits your style and tastes.

Absolutely stunning flowers dropped off yesterday to be pressed and framed for Megan.

I’ve limited the number of bouquets I can take to press between now and Christmas so I can work my way through my current commissions. I hate to say no but it’s just me working solo around the school hours so there’s only so much I can take on.

Wedding season was BUSY which I’m VERY grateful for and I’m working my way through them in the order that they were received. It’s a slow process and can’t be rushed as I’m working with such delicate materials. I’ve seen some preservation artists give a year as the timescale, and now that I do it myself I can understand why!

Summer brides are looking at December at the earliest as I’m currently working on a giant stained glass piece and brides from earlier in the year.

Gorgeous day in the studio yesterday with some lovely students (Happy Birthday Devon!) for our Intro to stained Glass workshop.

I genuinely love running these workshops, I was a lecturer for over a decade so it gets me back into teaching mode (which I do miss, I just don’t miss all the crap that goes alongside working in a college 😂)

We always have a fab time getting stuck into glass making, chatting about all kinds and seeing students excited about what they’ve made is ace.

My last market was back in the spring and I haven’t booked any markets for the rest of the year, that includes any happening during the run up to Christmas.

Between the stained glass custom orders, bouquet preservation commissions and the workshops I have scheduled I just don’t have the hours it would take to prep for markets and then be on the stalls.

The online store on my website looks very bare at the moment but it will be fully stocked by the end of Oct with pieces that are available for immediate purchase along with custom options available.
Delivery or collection from our Bold St studio is always available.

If you do want to order something for a Christmas gift then please get in touch as soon as possible so I can fit your custom piece in. Gift vouchers for workshops are also available.

Currently working on my biggest project to date!

Had a video call this afternoon with my lovely client to sign off on the colours and now it’s on to grinding each piece.

I get to use my noisy ring saw for this one too which is always fun (and slightly scary - have you seen those things?!)

My deadline for this is early Oct so this (& checking in existing presses) is the focus for the next couple of weeks.

Once it’s finished I’ll be into reconstructing & framing bouquets 💐

Out of office until Tuesday 10th September for our anniversary trip to Paris! 🖤

Will be celebrating 15 years with Mike by eating baguettes while wandering the streets of the city that we took our first holiday together in MANY years ago.

I’ll be back in the studio from Tuesday to crack on with commissions.

Studio Day today to press this gorgeous natural bouquet for Lorna.

I’m back in the studio on my usual hours from next Wednesday when the kids are back in school - I’ve loved spending the summer with them but it’s been HARD juggling a studio move & their holidays while Mike has been touring constantly.

Big love to all the parents out there juggling work / life with school holidays! 🖤

Definitely looking forward to having my days back to myself so I can work through the last remaining boxes to unpack and my commissions 💐

My socials are at the slowest they’ve ever been but my business has never been busier!
I’m trying to make an effort to post more but it’s fallen way down on my priorities list 😂

I’m in the studio most days finishing up the move, pressing flowers and checking presses while trying to make sure that the kids summer holidays is more than just work work work.

Today’s studio day was accompanied by some cheesy films I found on Tubi followed by Top Gun.. we’ve just had the volleyball scene 🎬

These colours 😍

Another gorgeous bouquet pressed over the weekend. (This was pressed to episodes of Ted Lasso - I always have background noise on while I’m working but I only choose things I’ve seen before so I can’t get distracted 😂)

Still smack bang in the middle of the studio move. We have a LOT of stuff. Had to pause while Mike went to Belgium & Holland for 4 days but got a long few days of packing, loading out & loading in and unpacking ahead so we can be fully out of the old space by July 31st.

Update..

It’s been a very busy (& stressful!) time while I’ve been juggling the busy wedding season, having the kids solo while Mike is touring and all the crap we’ve had to deal with in our current premises. I’ve barely had a minute for socials and sometimes I’ve purposely not even logged on for a bit of a break. Striving for that work / life balance.

BUT there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel 🥳

We’ve started to move into our new studio so it’s now official - we are moving to Bold Street! Beyond excited to move, if you know us IRL then you’ll know of the issues we’ve had to deal with at our premises in the Baltic and the many, many properties we’ve viewed over the last several weeks.

This is going to be a BIG move as we have to pack up a large studio over a short space of time in between Mike’s festival dates and have it all done by July 31st (and now the kids are off school too!) and get it across town to Bold Street. Challenge accepted 😂

To my lovely preservation clients: your flowers are safe and ready for the move. Once we are in and unpacked then rest assured I’ll be working through them all and as quickly as I can. This is a slow process and I’m a one woman show 😊

Potential lovely clients: I’ve got a full diary of bookings coming in over the summer and I may not be able to take anymore last minute requests while I work through those and my back log of commissions so please do book ahead to ensure that I can take your flowers.

Everyone who is due to drop off bouquets or attend summer workshops will be contacted with the new address and directions.

Socials & me lately just aren’t happening.
I’m working full days in the studio pressing bouquets and working on stained glass commissions so when I finally get home I’m either too tired to post or I genuinely can’t be arsed 😂 (& I avoid all of it apart from emails and daft TikTok’s when I’m having a day off)

Things are very hectic BTS, it’s wedding season so I’ve got bouquets flying in and out along with lovely stained glass commissions to work on and workshops to run.
It’s also festival season so Mike is all over the place (last week alone he did Prague, Dublin, Liverpool, Scotland, Isle of Wight & Belgium) then he was off again at 5am this morning for more.
So I’m juggling Olive Can Fly with the house and kids and anything else that comes my way!
