So why has Metal 2 The Masses Merseyside been so quiet, and what the f**k is going on?

I have been ill again, I posted back in September saying I was ill... I got put on meds and I did feel a lot better if not 100%.. Then cold season rolled around and thanks to my weakened state I discovered that if somebody with a cold even looked at me I get a chest infection.

BAM! health down the toilet, mental state so far down the bog that it is in the north sea!

Tweaking the medication and I once again feel a bit stronger, I no longer gurgle when I take a deep breath! so I have ventured out to a few gigs to see if I can handle it, I was genuinely scared I would not be able to physically handle gigs anymore. but slowly I have been handling them better. No more being wrecked for 4 days, it is down to a more normal 1 day!

So I have spoken to the Zanzibar Liverpool over the weekend and rescheduled some of the M2tM dates. I will be contacting bands this week. Feel free to contact me first as it will likely take me a few days to catch up with people.

Our opening band for tomorrow Uncoffined, are a band that I encountered through their label at the time Memento Mori asking us if we wanted to do a label showcase. This 2015 show in Manchester was the only time Uncoffened have played, no destroyed a Deathwave show but it was always on my to do list to get them over to Liverpool, I just never got around to sorting it out with Kat until 8 years later!

It turns out it is the bands first live performance at all in 5 years. So it is quite special this one!

The first time I ever heard Marche Funèbre was when the vocalist of Eye Of Solitude was telling me how amazing they are. I couldn't agree more and I would book them three times in just two years. This Saturday will be just shy of a decade since they last played Liverpool for us. The last time being 31st January 2014.

I am really excited to see them again after so long.

So way back in 2004 it was a time before youtube or spotify, and I had a fairly expensive CD habit. So I ventured into the world of Lime Wire so I could "try before I bought" during that time I discovered Funeral Doom, in fact it was illegally downloading a track called Envy Us by Pantheïst that took my cherry.

I should probably apologise to Kostas for my younger self stealing his music but I would like to think that hosting the band for their first ever show in Liverpool might be a small repayment.

So that track, give it a listen.
