Do you buy wedding dresses? Is probably the thing that I hear most in my line of work, and after a record 5 calls, 2 emails and 3 visits to my shop asking this, I feel compelled to do a post. And the short answer is…...No. The longer answer is this: The world has far too many wedding dresses in existence, yet millions are being made every year for a market of a couple of hundred thousand weddings, and not all weddings have a bride or even a wedding dress. The vast majority of wedding dresses are worn only once for a few hours and some are not worn at all. Designers are releasing “new” collections a couple of times a year forcing boutiques to keep buying new samples or risk losing the right to stock those dresses. The amount of wedding dress boutiques in the UK is unknown and every week, more and more are sadly forced to close because the supply vastly outweighs the demand. You only need to look at sites like Vinted, Still White and EBay, even our own website at HQ, to see how many wedding dresses are for sale, but buying online has a risk attached and I’ve spoken to people who have bought 3 or 4 dresses only to find that none of them fit or have marks or damage. That is one of the reasons that people like to come to Bridal Reloved as you are able to try the dresses on and inspect them before you make your purchase. As a small independent boutique, part of the Bridal Reloved franchise, I myself have around 100 dresses currently in stock. I could fill several large warehouses with the amount of dresses I am offered on a daily basis. As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound:

And his clothes were all tarnish’d with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys was flung on his back,
And he look’d like a peddler just opening his pack:
