There couldn’t have been a more idyllic spot for H&G’s wedding at home.

Marquee weddings mean a lot more work, but you also get to create a ‘venue’ that is completely personalised to fit your vision.

For H&G this meant a bright & colourful canvas tent set in lush grounds (nurtured by a very devoted Dad!) to party the day and night away with their loved ones.

Advice from a planner: cut your Guestlist.

I don’t mean remove important people that you care about, I mean make sure that every person on that list or in that room counts.

This is too big and beautiful a moment to share with anyone and everyone and you won’t regret being a little bit ruthless.

If they’re consistently in your life before and will be after your wedding, then yes. But no one is entitled to be there and you’re not a terrible person for not including them.

True friends would be there or understand that it’s not about them.

Hello Hello to anyone new to my page!

Allow me to reintroduce myself with 10 Things to know about me…

1. First things first: my name is Stacey, middle name Cassandra (chosen very randomly by my aunt)!

2. Zimbabwean & eldest of 5 so naturally the Family Manager- which bodes well for a planner…

3. 3year old Wedding Planner with over 16 years of corporate/planning experience.

4. My Happy Place includes salted popcorn, beautiful glassware and Real Housewives- judge me if you will, but my people understand!

5. I once planned a football testimonial in 5months which raised £1.3m for local charities- had to google what a testimonial was initially but nailed it!

6. I am very sentimental, love photos and little details- the more, the tearier!

7. Very open/transparent so will always guide you honestly and my facial expressions will give me away at all times!

8. I love breaking wedding rules and traditions- there is no such thing so please start with a blank slate and we’ll define your magic.

9. I’m told I have a very calming manner and influence- there is never a need to panic but also, did you die? No. We move.

10. I love a voicenote so brace yourself if we’re going to work together.

Apparently Christmas is the most popular time of year to get engaged- who knew!

It's made me look back at some of my past couples highlights from their weddings- a moment that seems so far away from reality when they first got engaged. It's such a journey and one I've done many times as planner so love getting to help 'first timers' navigate their way through it while also making it fun and focused on them because there will be a LOT of noise along the way!

My top 3 tips for any newly engaged couples?

1. Just enjoy the bubble for as long as you can! Start to think about what your wedding looks like to you and no-one else.
2. Ignore the pressure of rushing to book everything at once- take your time, research and piece together your team of suppliers to make sure they're the right fit because once you sign that contract, they're going to be a big part of your day.
3. Book me- or please make sure you book a planner because there is one out there for everyone! Speak to a few, make sure that you click and can do this together then enjoy having a third wheel that has done this a hundred times over, is going to be completely focused on the two of you and will make sure that every bit of the day makes sense for you.

For E&P, that was stood cheek to cheek in the foothills of Tuscany surrounded by loved ones as they exchanged the most beautiful of vows in both English and Italian.

I take that as a massive compliment because we couldn’t have been a more perfect match to pull together our “Big Gay Wedding”!

No two weddings look the same and what genuinely makes me happy is understanding how you want your day to be, to feel, to look and ultimately guiding you to get to that reality.

When I can stand back and see you light up as you experience it all after many months of planning… icing on the cake for me!

I honestly had so much fun with this one/ these two and will share a little bit more of what was described by some guests as “the best weekend of their lives!”

I get told all the time that I have a calming effect on the people around me.

It’s something I care deeply about and I love being able to be a consistent point of sanity for my clients who are naturally feeling a little anxious right before their wedding day.

Wedding planning can be a bit of a wild ride (understatement of the century) and whilst I can’t always shield you from external noise, my job is to keep you focused on your why and to keep things all about you.

I’m guilty of maybe doing too much: I always say I’m first in and last out because it’s true. It’s like having an extra bridesmaid or groomsman on the morning- but a strict one with a schedule that’s at a wedding every week.

I think I just love the feeling of knowing I have done absolutely everything I can to make sure that you get your once in a lifetime day.

So yes I have steamed and fluffed dresses, delivered coffee/breakfast in bed, arranged for last minute travel, held bouquets during photos, topped up glasses before speeches, tidied toilets, pushed generators around a field, driven clients to the hotel for outfit change, put out an oblivious guests scarf which had caught on fire mid-ceremony… you know, the usual wedding bits!

But it’s all worth it because I can’t even tell you what it feels like being the third wheel that gets to experience it all on the day.

Having that ‘we did it’ moment with your couple. Hearing them say “I’m so glad we did it this way!”. And then watching them throw themselves right back into the midst of it all.

It never gets old!

So if I must fluff, polish and extinguish along the way- well then, I’m here for it!

A&G loved the dance from Pulp Fiction and wanted to bring their playfulness to the dancefloor, so started with something traditional before breaking into big grins and shimmies to Chuck Berry to the surprise of all their guests!

I feel like we don’t talk about the Groom’s wedding morning enough.

Whether that’s one or two Grooms, their mornings are somewhat different and (usually) without 6am hair & makeup calls and last minute dress panics.

But that’s not to say it’s any less emotionally intense- in a really beautifully sentimental way.

As Planner, I’m lucky enough to see both sides and it’s one of my favourite moments.

The nerves, excitement, sentimentality, butterflies and inevitably each party checking with me that their love is doing ok before they get to see them.

And though separation the night before isn’t for everyone, there is just something about the suspense of waiting for that moment…

Gets me every time!

I can’t tell you how happy these photos make me.

As someone obsessed with tablescaping, each design is as much about beauty as it is about my couple walking in and having that moment of seeing exactly what they envisioned from our planning.

For A&G this was a neutral, clean, effortless palette focused on flowers with playful accents.

Working with the room meant stone coloured linen, rustic chairs, delicately ribbed glassware, lots of greenery and little accents.

Aisle of dreams for H&G

This space was a total labour of love completely transformed by the Father of the Bride, Paul alongside our fabulous florist, Kymm.

When we stood here in Jan 2023 with the vision of the ceremony space, I couldn’t have imagined it turning out quite so perfectly. Seriously- flip to the last pic for the ‘then’ vs the day!

But we all knew that if anyone was going to work his magic here it was FOB. And did he deliver!
