World Mental Health Day is coming up... the 10th of October; a day to illuminate.. is also a chance to talk about mental health in general, how we need to look after it, and how important it is to talk about things and get help if you are struggling.

We are continuing our tradition of opening on Christmas Day. As usual we will be giving away teas, coffees, butties and plenty of mince pies to anyone who fancies calling in. Whether you’re a regular visitor or on your own at a loose end, pop in and say hello! If you know anyone who might fancy a free cuppa please let them know we will be open from 9.30-12.

BEFRIENDING GROUP CO-ORDINATOR VACANCY – ST MATTHEW AND ST JAMES / SOUTH LIVERPOOL LINKING LIVES

Maternity Cover – initial 3 month contract (extension possible up to 12 months) to cover maternity leave of Befriending Group Co-Ordinator – 8 hours per week – commencing February 2021

Are you passionate about addressing social isolation and loneliness? We are seeking a great communicator with good organisational skills. The post holder will co-ordinate and manage the day to day activities of the Linking Lives project for Mossley Hill Church.

Duties will include:
 Responding to emails, calls and social media messages
 Dealing with new referrals
 Dealing with new volunteer applications
 All administration in respect of referrals and volunteers
 Ensuring regular feedback with matched referrals and volunteers (phone/email)
 Organising any rematches between referrals and volunteers
 Maintaining records for all referrals and volunteers
 Providing quarterly reports to Linking Lives UK and to PCC
 Planning and attending quarterly steering group meetings
 Liaising with key local agencies
 Liaising and meeting with other Linking Lives co-ordinators in the area
 Adapting the service accordingly to take into account any changes required due to the Covid
pandemic
 Promoting and growing the service, where time permits

Hours: 8 hours per week
Salary: £4160 pa - pro rata for term of contract
Holidays: 28 days per annum pro rata
Probationary Period: 3 months
Pension: below the threshold – employee can ask to join the pension scheme and make own contributions
