šŸ‘»Weā€™re back!! šŸ‘»

Spooky season is upon us so thereā€™s no better time to bring this event back.
Walton Park Cemetery, in the dark, is one of the creepiest places Iā€™ve ever been. The constant feeling of being watched at every turn, the dark shadows within the treesā€¦..
We will spend a couple of hours wandering around the cemetery, with a little bit of history of the site, some spooky tales and using paranormal equipment and finishing with a mini seance/vigil.
Please contact us to book your place either by email, text or messanger and letā€™s have some spooky fun šŸ‘»šŸŖ¦

Every year, thousands of people phone us to help grounded or injured bats that they find. But our bat care work has no guaranteed source of income and is wholly dependent on peoples generosity.

Baby bat season is in full force! Do check the image below for the differences between baby, juvenile and adult bats.

Adult bats are still incredibly small, with even the larger species being smaller than the palm of your hand (when resting. In flight they do look bigger).

If you find a baby or juvenile bat without it's mother it will need help. If you find an adult bat on the ground or an exposed area during the day or if it's been caught by a cat it will need help. Please don't release it without seeking advice.

If you are in the UK and you find a bat in need of help please call our National Bat Helpline on 0345 1300 228, which is now running an out of hours service on evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

We are lucky enough to have 18 species of bat in the UK, 17 of which are known to be breeding here - that's almost a quarter of our mammal species. Ever...

Last night was our second bat walk at Rice Lane Farm/Walton Cemetery. I had the absolute pleasure of spending a couple of hours here beginning with a talk about all the important bat facts and info and how the bat conservation trust does amazing work to protect our nocturnal friends. We listened to some pre recorded bat calls to help us hear the distinct difference between species then we headed off with our bat detectors in search of some bats. It wasnā€™t long before we were hearing them piping and squeaking around us. We spotted a couple before heading into the spooky woods, unfortunately we didnā€™t find any there but as soon as we emerged we were surrounded by little fluttery friends. We watched and listened for quite a while in total appreciation and awe.

Bat numbers have been in drastic decline over the years so it is important we do all we can to help these creatures of the night and walks like this do just that, through spreading awareness, donations or adoption and sponsorship
Thank you to the ladies that joined me you were all an absolute pleasure and I hope to see you again soon, maybe on a ghost walk ā€¦!?
