We've spotted a trend amongst our 2025 couples....so many of you are asking for "colourful" and we are here for it!!!

We love creating with colour so much, and seeing more and more of our couples trust us to do our thing makes us VERY happy. When we're creating a colour palette for a wedding we often start with a single hero bloom, and pick out a range of shades drawn from the natural variation within it.

There is nothing like saying goodbye to remind you how much you love something. So, October's favourite flowers are a final hurrah to the dahlias.

Now we have to wait until next year to see them again, please don't choose a favourite, we love them all and our hearts can't take it. Instead, comment with a 🌸 if you love dahlias too!

October life on the farm has been a rollercoaster.
It started with picking glorious blooms under the watchful eye of Dyna Doggo. The last big Dahlia pick (still dreaming of those buckets) on a glorious misty morning.....followed by a killing frost 🥶 which brought our flower season to an end a few weeks earlier than planned.

That hasn't frosted our spirits though. Mum paid us a visit and took our Teddy Bear sunflowers for a special delivery, we've been planting up hardy annuals ready for the spring, starting the first of our Ranunculus claws and reminiscing over sweet peas we grew a couple of years ago. I wonder if they'll be making a comeback 👀

We love working with colour here at the Dahlia Wood. We take inspiration directly from the flowers all around us. Each bloom, and even each petal, contains a whole range of shades within it that form the basis of the palette we use for bouquets and other arrangements. Do you prefer the more muted tones of the cafe au lait (first picture), or the brighter, jewel tones? No surprise here - we love them all! 😂

We had a blast at the Welsh National Wedding Fayre last weekend. It was so lovely meeting lots of brides and grooms, and talking all things wedding flowers! 1. We've had a lot of grey weather, but these dahlias have been bringing some much needed colour!

3. Wedding prep took up quite a bit of time in August
