What we love to grow - Starry flowers! (Astrantia and Daucus).

We love the shape of these blooms, and they way they add extra texture and structure to bouquets. The bright colour of Astrantia make them look like little jewels! And Daucus looks like a explosion of tiny stars. So beautiful. Do you grow either of these? We'd love to hear your experiences!

What we love to grow - Cosmos. If you don't love the dancing, delicate Cosmos then honestly, I'm not sure we can be friends πŸ˜‚

Fizzy Rose Picotee and White Cupcakes are favourites here. I wonder if the Orange Cosmos Sulphureus will make a comeback in 2025...

What we love to grow - Tulips 🌷

Tulips bring such a blase of colour and joy to the start of the season. They are incredibly versatile, varied in shape and colour, and oh so pretty! With early, mid and late flowering varieties the tulip season can last for months.

Some of our favourite varieties are Angelique, Dream Touch, Menton and Charming Lady.

What we love to grow - Phlox.

Phlox can be a bit tricky to grow, but we think it's worth it for these pretty blooms. They add beautiful movement to bouquets, and the two tone flowers can bring together a colour palette beautifully. We grow 'Cherry Caramel', 'Creme Brulee' and 'Isabellina'.

What we love to grow - Geums πŸ§‘β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ©·

They come in so many different, vibrant colours, and flower for ages. 'Totally Tangerine' (3) has incredible stem length and a zesty colour that can't help but cheer you up on a gloomy day! 'Mai Tai' (5) is a understated bloom, with beautiful colour variegation in it's petals. It pares really well with so many other lovely flowers. We also grow 'Lady Strathden' (yellow), 'Mrs Bradshaw' (red), 'Tempo Rose' (pink) and 'Coral Tempest' (coral red). As geums are perennial they should just keep better better and better each year, with very little input from us - winner!

What we love to grow: Alliums, exploding into riotous colour in Spring like floral fireworks - what's not to love?! We particularly enjoy growing Drumstick (1), Purple Rain (2) and Purple Sensation (3). We think they look great with other Spring flowers too. Do you enjoy growing Alliums?

What we love to grow:

Snapdragons or Antirrhinum, are majestic spire shaped flowers. Most that we grow are also really scented and they are without doubt making an appearance in 2025.

We love the Chantilly, Madame Butterfly and Potomac varieties. We will also be trying some of the Double Shot series this year.

Kicking off "Flowers we love to grow" with these absolute showstoppers.
Oh how we love Ranunculus 😍
These special blooms come in a wide range of colours and they flower from mid spring to early summer. They have a reputation for being a bit of a diva to grow but we think they are 100% worth it.

Sharing our highs and lows of 2024.
The highs:
1. Seeing our first flowers popping up, and creating our first gift bouquet marks the start of the season for us, and is always a time of joy! πŸŒ±πŸŒΈπŸ€—
2. We really loved running our kindness initiative this year, 'Superstar Jars' πŸ’«
3. Growing Lavatera for the first time (and not the last!😍 )
4. Flowering some gorgeous weddings is one of the things we're most proud of this year.
5. Our farm tours and workshops were another high point!

The lows...
6. The incessant rain! 😩🌧️ Such a wet year meant harvesting was tricky and makes the job much less fun!
7. Weeding! So much weeding...
8. Shoveling muck about is a necessary but mucky and physically tough part of the job!
9. Beasties munching on our flowers does NOT fill us with joy πŸ™„
10. We lost a few seedlings at the start of the year, and that's always a sad time!

What are your highs and lows this year? We'd love to hear them!
