So, it's official.

Neil has decided to step down from the Welsh area refereeing representative role, after many years of dedicated service and will be sorely missed. However, I fully understand and respect his reasons for doing so. Neil has been representing the Welsh area for as long as I can remember, bringing countless officials up through the ranks with him and continually improving the standards of refereeing here in Wales.

Personally Neil has mentored me and always been at hand with his words of wisdom when desperately needed and I cannot thank him enough. I'm glad to hear that Neil will continue refereeing, tutoring and examining, as he still has so much more to share.

For the last 5 years I have been the assistant to Neil and gained a huge amount of knowledge in doing so. Although, Neil's shoes will be very large to fill, I will endeavour to make him proud and do my best for the area, its officials and the wider judo community, as I take on the role of the new Welsh Judo Association Refereeing Representative.

Apologies for not posting in a while. Lots going on and unfortunately my mental health hit an all time low. Honestly, I've lost some interest as a result, in a few things. Things that were once the best things happening to me. So, there could be less posts on here for a while but this is the most recent activity from this weekend at the Midland Area Championships in Walsall.

All I want to do, is get as many opportunities as possible in order to improve as a referee. Thus, eventually being able to support others more.

All I can do is try, but sometimes no matter how much I try, sometimes you just get knocked back.

British VI & adaptive championships followed by a national dan grading in the evening.

Started refereeing at 10am finished at 8pm.😴🥋
