The Snowdrop Fairy ~ By Cicely Mary Barker (1923)

Deep sleeps the Winter,

Cicely Mary Barker was an English illustrator. Since the first publication of her Flower Fairies in 1923, they have enchanted both adults and children alike around the world. The botanically accurate drawings in the 170 original illustrations, coupled with the enchanting fairy images based on real children from Cicely’s sister’s nursery school, appeal to our innate sense of magic and wonder.

Originally accompanied by a poem or verse dedicated to the individual Flower Fairy the charming characters and detailed artwork have also been translated into fiction for young readers as well as the New York Times bestselling Fairyopolis series.

December 21 Winter Solstice
The shortest day and the longest night of the year.

This day iholds incredible memories for a number of reasons….. the first being that K & I were the most fabulous couple😁

K contacted me and ordered a taster box before she even had a venue!!! They had their wedding planned and organised and just needed to put it all in place 🥰

The other memories? Storm Darragh…… wind and rain by the bucketload , flooding, fallen trees and power cuts…… boy was it a day💨🍃☔️

But the wedding was beautiful, there was a celebration- it didn’t matter what was going on outside because the party was happening inside!??

Huge congratulations both ❤️❤️

The Original Three. 🔼 🔼 🔼

This was Event in a Tent's first wedding, which happened to be OUR wedding, and the first three Stratus tipis we ever bought. Almost 15 years later here we are! One of those tipis is still going strong even now!

We have so much passion and love for these structures - it's where we started our journey. Now offering a unique range of timber alternative structures for events and launching our brand new 20m Dome this year is so exciting!
