We are beyond excited to be able to share some pictures and memories from a recent wedding held here at Glansevin Mansion 🤍
Heres what the Brides themselves had to say.....
"We have lots of great stories from the weekend! I’m a massive movie and dinosaur fan and we had the Jurassic Park theme song playing in our ceremony, followed by Crocodile Rock by Elton John, as Beth and I had just seen him in concert a month earlier together."
We hired @limegrovegrazing for our breakfasts and wedding buffet and it was beautiful. Sian couldn’t have done more for us. We would absolutely recommend her company for any events.
Uncharacteristically, Wales was really hot on our wedding day, so the only way to cool off was jumping into the pool!
The night before the wedding we played rounders in the rain on the grassy area at the back of the house. I was told not to commit 100%, so not to cause any injuries :-)
We had a ‘Sh*t shirt’ night on Friday evening, where all our guests had to wear the craziest shirts they could find, it ranged from dinosaurs, to our faces, to see through bling, Carebears and lots of crazy themes.
We had the best 80/90s rock band called @irontygeruk , who travelled all the way up from the south coast to rock out to Summer of 69! The guitarists took it in turns to run out the dining room doors and around the house and back before their song solos.
Beth’s 87 year old grandma traveled all the way from Nottingham to Glansevin for our wedding weekend. She absolutely loved it.
My dad passed away during COVID, despite him not being able to walk me down to the oak tree, my brother stepped in and offered. He wore a full Scottish highland outfit, as a memory to my dad (he was Scottish) so in a way he was there with me.
Once all our guests left on Sunday afternoon, Beth and I spent a couple of hours sitting in the sun, under the oak tree in the garden opening our cards. It was the perfect end, to the perfect weekend."

✨🌳Our orchard story so far...
Last autumn, we could see about 4 or 5 trees laden with apples, but between us and them was an imprenitable wall of brambles and nettles about 5 ft high. Behind the trees were a number of sorry and dangerous looking ash trees which had been smitten by the ash die back disease.
By chance we discovered there was an apple variety called Glansevin. On some research we found out that variety did originate at Glansevin. We were able to buy a couple of bare root trees. This provided the urgency to do something about this area of garden.
As a winter project we decided to reinstate the orchard that had obviously been there in the past.
The plan was to fell the dead ash trees, prune the apple trees, clear the ground and plant apple trees.
I met Carol at Telegraph Garden Centre in Llangadog who then visited and gave lots of encouragement and advice.
Our wonderful neighbours at The Coach House gave access to the back of that land where most of the ash trees were. Proclimber felled the dead ash trees. 22 tons worth of wood, which Tim Davies at Dyfed Firewood came and removed for us. We fought brambles, with strimmers and forks and rakes. Arwel Morgan came and turned the soil, making the return of the brambles less instant.
Amazingly, the vista emerged. The area was far larger than we had thought.
A highlight was when Terry Hall who was a WWII evacuee visited after about 82 years. He used to have chores in those days too. This time, we asked him to plant the Queen of the Realm variety. This variety was newly created for the Jubliee. Our nod to the future.
I hesitate, it's early days, to say, but the trees look happy. This doesn't mean the hard work is over. The new trees will need caring for.

Just over a year ago we completed buying this beautiful Georgian Mansion - such an opportunity.
And what an amazing year it has been!
We knew we would be creating wonderful memories and experiences here, but it's been a joy, a privilege and such a surprise to be able to help create memories and experiences for others. Guests have chosen to come with their family and friends to celebrate their weddings, their birthdays, their anniversaries, their informal family gatherings and amongst them companies have accomplished their events.
