By now you must be aware that your comments on Drink Champs have generated tremendous commentary, criticisms, discord and inspiration (more so), to people of African descent.

As we embrace your words of wisdom and fight your fight with you, I wanted to share a very profound statement made by one of my colleagues on my page.

These were his profound words, in response to my defense of the statements you made in relation to Afrobeats.

"Please don't waste your energy Janet, just let them be. Reggae is the only music that is meant to free the people, the only genre that can carry a message of hope. As a people, Jamaica has been blessed to have been given the task, and the opportunity, to help free Africans from mental slavery through music. It's not just a Jamaican thing, I believe it's totally spiritual, coming from the creator. Mandela spoke about how reggae helped him while he was in jail. To challenge any other genre to similarly inspire anybody is basically asking them to do the impossible.

The uproar against Buju Official over his negative comments on Afrobeats and the filth language used in his interview is biased,the same fans were celebrating the release of Vybz Kartel, a murder suspect who sings in mostly explicit language.Hypocrites.
I agree with Buju on Afrobeats,it's not impactful to society emancipation,revolutionary, uplifting like reggae music ,that's a fact.Afrobeat is just party sound.
