LOCATION IS KEY
Location, location, location, probably the most important element about your corporate event. First thing to consider are transport links, your venue should be close to train, tube and bus stations, and possibly have plenty of parking. A venue that is easily accessible is very critical as it can help prevent attendees from arriving late, getting lost, or not showing up at all. If many attendees will be traveling from out of town, a venue near the airport or their hotels will be appreciated. To keep your guests entertained and accommodated both pre and post event, choosing a space that has other amenities close by is always beneficial, and If the event takes place over a few days, you may also want to consider a venue that offers or is close to an accommodation.
BUDGET
Another big consideration when choosing which venue to hire is the budget. Even before you start your research, you should agree on a budget and stick to it. This will help you avoiding being tempted by more expensive venues that are out of your price range. On a similar note, think about opting for cheaper venues as you may compromise on services or be surprised with hidden costs after the meeting with the venue sales manager has taken place. You should absolutely make sure you know exactly what’s included before signing a contract. And most importantly, don’t be afraid to negotiate either. Being flexible on the date can be very helpful, as is very usual that certain days of the week usually prices are lower, for example Mondays and Fridays can be cheaper days of the week for corporate business. Remember to always confirm the cost, dates, times and details in a written contract. Choose a venue that is good value, with great facilities, catering and service and take time to read customer testimonials and check their credentials. A good indication of quality is if the venue has recently been prized by the industry with an award, and or has great client reviews on sites like Trip Advisor.
