Happy New 2022 to everyone and especially to our supporters!
2021 was a challenging year but thanks to you all, TOGETHER we made a huge difference in the local community.
From January to July 2021, we made and delivered our seasonal and creative plant based meals to North West London through the 9kitchens project. We were inspired by various cuisines to propose a different menu every week. From Japan 🇯🇵 to Vietnam 🇻🇳, from Syria 🇸🇾 to Morocco 🇲🇦, from Korea to China without forgetting our stop in Mexico. Those 🥙WERE ALL PREPARED BY OUR SISTERHOOD 👩🏻🍳, non professional local women from Brent. All generated income were distributed to those ladies who were (and are still sometimes) facing financial and personal challenges.
In Sept 2021, the project became a company with 9Kitchens Catering Ltd. We moved to a bigger kitchen in New Covent Garden surrounded by the best greengrocers. Until mid December 2021, many of you, hired our services for family/friends dinners and corporate team celebrations. Even for a 👰🏻 in the beautiful St John’s Church near Hyde Park.
September marks also the time when we had relay 🚴🏻♀️🏊♀️🏃♀️teams that participated in the Blenheim Palace triathlon. Together with more than 180 other neighbours from Brent, we raised money for local charities and for 9Kitchens.
I have many successes to 🎉 but it’s also a time I need to reflect and learn from my mistakes. From a pure charity project, the challenge has been to transform 9Kitchens into a financially viable model: to find the right balance between training and production, creativity and bottom line, top notch ingredients and affordability.
2022 looks promising but with some uncertainty depending on the gouvernement’s announcements and support. Together with my team, we will continue to strive. We look forward to resuming the events so we can continue to offer our beautiful meals, canapés and desserts and m
FINALLY, WE DID IT! A dinner for 200 people at St John’s Church in central London. We cooked a huge Thai yellow curry, a gigantic Vietnamese coleslaw and an immense Thai corn salad. What a week! Thanks to the wonderful team behind 9kitchens, it was a smooth ride! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
