What an honour to be invited to officiate the wedding ceremony of these to gorgeous brides! Planned with class and to perfection, it was such a beautiful moment!

Back in May I was delighted to officiate the ceremony of the lovely Ian & Zoe.

There was talk of brightly coloured jumpers, engagement rings hidden in Hotel Chocolat tins (the actual tin made an appearance!) and even their connection to Russell Crowe.

We also managed to have a little naming shoutout to their gorgeous son. What a day!

Had the absolute privilege of supporting Robin and Alan in their wedding last weekend and what an occasion it was!

Through no fault of their own the ceremony was an hour late starting. And this is where one of the joys of having a Celebrant come into play. Was I happy to wait around, keeping an eye on the groom, chatting with the guests whilst staying on top of the situation and ensuring we had a plan in place….YOU BET YOUR BIBBY I WAS!

And when we did get going it was a beautiful ceremony. Lots of laughter, lots of family input and a surprise for the bride that had her in happy tears and maybe even a little more loved up than before.

I love being a Celebrant, I love being part of couple’s day and making them happy.

Oh, and I wonder if this little ditty will get stuck in your head 🤣🤣🤣

✨ YOU HAVE OPTIONS HUN! ✨

I have attended a handful of wedding fairs lately and a common theme when speaking to the couples is that they had booked a registrar for their venue because it was the only option they were presented with, or they just didn’t know any different. 🧐

I’m here to tell you that YOU HAVE OPTIONS HUN! 🥳

A registrar (and no offence to registrars as I’m sure they are lovely people) will provide you with a perfectly acceptable wedding but why have acceptable when you can choose phenomenal?

Why have standard when you can have unique?

Why choose someone you’ve never met when you can have someone you’ve hand picked and built up rapport with?

Why choose someone who has a very limited amount of time for you when you can have someone who has all the time in the world for you?

Why have someone who says ‘No, we can’t do that’ when you can choose someone who say ‘F**k yeah! That’ll be awesome’?

Why have the same ceremony as everyone else when you can have one that is filled with your personality and humour, tells your story and involves your friends and family?

TO MY DARLING VENUES…when couples come and book with you PLEASE let them know they have choices! Add Celebrants to your preferred supplier list, you can start with me if you like! 🤣

I know so many WEDDING PLANNERS are on board and love shouting about the joy of Celebrants so on behalf of all Celebrants, I thank you!!

✨ OH WHAT FUN WE HAD!✨

Still basking in the lovefest that was Denise and Issa’s wedding so I made a little reel!

From Celebrant to riverboat guest, to Master of Ceremonies to unofficial photographer (basically following .yang.martinez and around! 🤣) it was a day filled with awesome people, fantastic scenery and a whole lotta love!

✨ THEY SAID I DO ✨

Saturday was a blast of a day with the most adorable couple!!! 💕

The whole process was awesome and I’m so glad they put their trust in me because I couldn’t have been prouder of what we created together! 🙏🏽

The ceremony was filled with their humour and personality and their vows were so touching, no wonder there were tears from their friends and family. 🥹

And then I had the pleasure of joining the family and friends on a awesome boat trip up and down the river Thames taking in the sites and making new friends! 🛥️

But then it was back into ‘work’ mode and I had the honour of being their Master of Ceremonies too! And what a fun crowd to work with. So up for it! We had at least two Mexican waves, a touching speech from the Father of the Bride, a funny one from the Best Man and a nervous Groom absolutely had everyone eating out of the palm of his hand! 🎤

What a wonderful day we had! Denise and Issa, thank you so much for choosing me. I’m honoured and will always remember the fun that it was! 🎉🎉

✨ WHAT A GORGEOUS FUN FILLED DAY ✨

Flashing back to last week’s wedding or the gorgeous Andy and Alice in the beautiful setting of Longton Wood nestled in Maidstone!!

With their flowers and disco balls theme carried into my jacket, the bridesmaids dresses and the brides stunning gown(s) it really was a day full of sparkles and smiles! 🪩💐

And I have to give Alice and Andy a shout out for their vows! After being a bit dubious about even doing them, with a little nudge from me, they wrote some of the finest and most personal vows I’ve experienced. Fun yet sincere and tear inducing! 🎉

✨ WHAT AN EPIC CELEBRATION ✨

Last weekend I had the honour of officiating the ceremony of David and Danielle at the gorgeous Parkland Quendon Hall!

A glorious outside wedding with a stunning bride and a dapper groom. Not to mention the very stylish bridal party. I just had to make sure I got a photo with them.

If I say so myself, it was a beautiful ceremony celebrating a love that has so far been a part of their lives for half of their lives.

From meeting at 14 years old to marrying at 28! It is a beautiful story of love and growth and understanding that will take them through to eternity!

David and Danielle, I’m so thankful to have been a part of your EPIC day so I had to find an epic soundtrack to match it!

It’s always a joy when you spends months on end working with a couple and after their big day they give you a glowing review but it’s also something special when you get to work with new talented wedding suppliers and you make an instant connection.

I had the great pleasure of working with Kathryn and Isabel of at the weekend and it was a total joy.

Now, I wouldn’t say I’m a control freak (erm….) but if there is something I think could work more effectively in a different way, I’m not shy about making my opinion known. I also like to think I am very flexible because my only aim is to ensure that my couple has the best experience possible.

Despite never having had worked together before, the blend of and Dave the Celebrant was, for me, a wonderfully compatible one. That’s why I’m over the moon to receive such lovely compliments from my new friends.

✨HELLO EVERYBODY ✨

I’ve had some new followers lately and meet lots of fabulous wedding suppliers so thought I’d just re-introduce myself! 👋🏽

In case you didn’t know my name is Dave Octave!

I recently turned 50 and if I’m honest, I can’t believe I am that age. It must be true that age ain’t nothing but a number because (other than a few aches and pains) I still feel as silly and fun loving as I ever did!

*So why do I love being a Celebrant?* It simply is one of the best careers I could have ever imagined for myself. I adore making connections with excited couples and becoming a trusted part of their big celebrations.
I feel honoured to be someone that they can count on for helpful hints and tips.
It is amazing to be able to stand in such a wonderful position and see love expressed right in front of you.
It is gratifying to see the happy looks on my couples faces and to feel their appreciation for the journey we have taken!

*What else do I do?*
Well, as well as being an award-winning, as seen on TV Celebrant, I am also a Music Bingo host, a ring sales advisor for the awesome and a crooner. You can check out my other profile or stream my music on Spotify!!

*And who is Dave as a person?*
As I mentioned, I’m 50. I’m a single gay dad to a 13 year old girl, always on the look out for guy that I can get married to, my favourite group of all time is the all singing all dancing sibling group 5 Star (), my favourite dessert is anything lemon, when I’m not busy with work I can often be found in one of the favourite places , I love people, I’m known to be a little bit of a Prosecco fiend although a nice glass of red also goes down well, I love theatre especially musicals and I love a nice long hot bath!

✨THEY SAID I DO!✨

Saturday’s wedding was such a glorious event! So much love, so much laughter and quite a few tears (of joy of course!) 💕

I was also honoured to be their MC for the rest of the day’s celebrations. What a super loving family, and bringing the African vibes and culture meant that there was so much colour, so many amazing outfits and so much music and life involved in the day. 💕

But at the heart of the celebrations was this amazing couple. So strong and connected on so many levels. Proof that if you put the work in amazing things can happen. Proof that from different continents should be a barrier to true love! Proof that ‘life happens wherever you are!’ 💕

And I also got to work with the amazing Katrien of . Looking forward to working with you again sometime soon 💕

Had such a blast at Amy and Jamie’s ceremony at the amazingly colourful and eclectic Blitz Factory!

With such a unique venue mixed with an adorable couple, I just knew it was going to be a ceremony to remember.

They were a little nervous about doing personalised vows but I’m so glad we were able to make them happen. I mean, I was great but the vows they came up with were FANTASTIC and for me, a highlight of the ceremony. They were so funny and real that their friends and family were in stitches.
Might sound patronising…but I’m so proud of them! 💕

Thanks again for choosing me Amy and Jamie! I know you’re going to continue to have a great life together.

✨NEW COUPLE ALERT ✨

It’s always exciting when a new couple choose you as their Celebrant but sometimes a couple comes along and you just know it was meant to be!

We had our initial chat and the vibes were good, and thankfully this gorgeous couple decided I was the Celebrant for them!

Then when discovered that although our paths had never crossed we have a mutual (and lovely) friend who had actually been telling me about a couple he’d been talk about me to!

And then, whilst hosting a private Music Bingo event guess who should turn up but the groom himself!

If this partnership isn’t packed with coincidence and magic in the making, I don’t know what is 🤷🏽‍♂️

I’m so excited to be a part of their big day and can’t wait to see what we can create 💕

What a joy it was to officiate the wedding of Nick and Chloe!

Not only was it a stunning woodland ceremony venue, the whole occasion was meticulously organised yet felt light and free and fun. The glorious sunshine added that extra note of perfection.

The ceremony itself was also filled with fun and laughter and a few teary eyes! 💕
And the loved up newly weds even shared a shot of their favourite Raspberry Vodka to seal the deal.

I enjoyed a couple of cheeky Proseccos (and a thrilling track ride through the woods) with their guest after the ceremony and got so many lovely comments about the wedding.

It was a total honour and joy to conduct Melissa and Mark ceremony at the unbelievably stunning Drapers’ Hall in Central London.

Talk about a grand affair!! From the stunning surroundings to the well turned out guests and how could I not mention the dapper groom and the ethereal princess bride!

It was all a match made in heaven!

Can’t wait to be back at Drapers’ Hall for another ceremony sometime soon!

✨ SO HERE IT IS! ✨

It’s always a little daunting when you finally send off the first draft of a wedding script, after working hard on trying to capturing who the couple.

To this day I still wonder what they will think. Will they like it? Have I missed the mark? Was I thinking more about me, than them?

Well, a message like this is ALWAYS welcomed. It’s so good to know that that connection we felt at the initial chat really has payed off and we are 100% on the right track.

This is just one of the amazing feelings I feel in my life as a Celebrant! How frickin’ lucky am I?!

✨THEY GOT MY JUMPING FOR JOY✨

I love having discovery calls or meeting with couples, finding out who they are, what makes them tick and what they are looking for in a Celebrant.

Sometimes you don’t click. In a role where rapport is key it’s sad but you know they’ll find the right fit for them.

Sometimes the couples are hard to read, or just have lots of Celebrants to speak to so play their cards close to their chest.

Other times you just hit it off straight away and after chatting for half an hour you finally remember why you were there in the first place and it feels like you’ve met a new friend.

However it happens I’m always over the moon when a couple I loved chatting with let me know they want me to be their Celebrants.

Exciting times ahead for me and some fabulous couples!

✨MUSIC BINGO ANYONE?✨

So as well as being an award-winning, as seen on tv Celebrant, and a bit of a Crooner, I almost host one of the most fun nights you can have with your clothes still on!!

If you don’t believe me just have at look at what had to say when I hosted Music Bingo for her birthday party last week!

Think fun feel good songs, lots of guilty pleasures, silly banter and cash prizes! That’s exactly what we did. I’m super excited to also be playing at game of Music Bingo at one of my weddings this year too. Now that is definitely going to get the party started!
