Good Shepherd Studios is home to a brilliant on-site cafe called Back To Ours. Local resident and owner Tim transformed the space and has since curated an excellent team with exceptional coffee.
If you haven’t had the chance to visit then you really should - especially after a Park Run, a game of badminton, Saturday yoga or Little Sing Song session. The vibes are soooo good.
Also shout to Mica, Josh, Evrem, Nat, Jack, Tom, Eden, Max, Ella, Nishat, Emilio, Wilda, Julia, Alabama and of course Yin & Annie (pictured) who have all blessed us with amazing service and damn fine coffee over the last 16 months…

Remember back in January when we shared news about the stunning People’s Pavilion project coming to Good Shepherd Studios? Here’s a quick recap... (keeping reading to the end to find out how to get involved!)

• Transported (extremely heavy flatpack style) from Lea Bridge Library garden to Good Shepherd Studios garden (following a few punctured tyres along the way)

• Over a few weekends, amongst a spell of sunshine and a lot more rain, a group of truly committed and hardworking volunteers got together to prepare the garden and re-build the People’s Pavilion. [Another HUGE thank you to each and every person involved in the re-build! including ]
So what next? In keeping with the essence of the original project, we want the future of the People’s Pavilion to be decided by local young people, so that’s what we’re going to do!
First up: “Raising the Roof” Design Workshop, Friday 7th June (Free to attend, pre-booking is essential)

• 12.30 Arrivals

• 13.00 Design Workshop: Young people, volunteers and qualified architects come together to design a roof for the People’s Pavilion

• 16.30 Winning Design Presentation: Panel decide on the winning design followed by the chance to chat

• 17.30 Close
Follow the link in our bio to book!

We’ve had a rollercoaster ride at the FoodHub this winter! Making loads of new friends while saving food from landfill and sharing that abundance of food with our amazing community.
For us the food resilience journey is pausing as we say goodbye to the FoodHub .1 Church Lane… for now… but we want to celebrate the amazing people and organisations that do this week in and week out.
Please connect with them and support where you can!

🎬Last Frame Q***r Fest presents:
‘Joyland’
Dir. Saim Sadiq (126 mins, 2022, Age restriction: 18+)
14th July / 18:30 - 21:00 (Link in bio👆)
LAST FRAME Q***R FEST are thrilled to present Joyland by Saim Sadiq. This moving romantic drama debut from Sadiq was the first Pakistani film to premiere at Cannes and went on to grip audiences at festivals around the world.
SYNOPSIS:
Following a long spell of unemployment, Haider lands a job at a Bollywood-style burlesque, telling his family he is a theatre manager. In actuality, he is a backup dancer and becomes infatuated with a strong-willed trans woman, Biba. Joyland is a tender and intimate love story set against a conservative and patriarchal backdrop. Told with integrity and passion. A stunning debut from director Saim Sadiq.
We would like to invite you to join us for this amazing screening at Good Shepherd Studios in partnership with Last Frame Q***r Fest with support from the Barbican. After the film there will be time to discuss your thoughts.
Entrance to the event is via the front green door - the screening is on the first floor in the auditorium.

Let's talk about Paul Dash...
Local resident artist moved into Good Shepherd Studios in December 2022 from his space in Hackney Wick. It means the world to us to be able to share space with an artist as prolific and humble as Paul. He brings so much joy and positive energy to everyone in the studios and café.
Here he is pictured in front of his 'Bacchanal' painting which has been handpicked for the Royal Academy Summer Show - the painting was in fact only recently finished at Good Shepherd Studios.
Next week, we plan to start a mural on our Davies Lane wall based on the 'Bacchanal' artwork in celebration of Paul's work and career. With the help of Wood Street Walls - we hope to share Paul's work with the local community. We have a handful of spaces available for people to help with the mural - please DM or email us if you are interested in being part of this momentous project.
