Q&A from the Man himself...Meet Jibby 🍖

How long have you been cooking? 👨🏿‍🍳
I have been cooking from the age of 12, it started off with instant noodles and pasta but I always experimented with the seasoning and flavours.

When did you start cooking bbq? 💨
My first attempt at BBQ I was probably 16 or 17 years old. The chicken was probably burnt but it had flavour!

Favourite meat/fish to smoke? 🍖
It has to be beef short ribs the colour, flavour and texture is unmatched.

How does being Nigerian influence your cooking? 🇳🇬 As a young boy, I spent some time in Nigeria. I was always fascinated by our street food and suya was my favourite. Also, my mum being a caterer for numerous years was my main influence, as I always being summoned to help peel Maggie cubes or dice onions which is where my training started.

What are the plans for Jibbys cookout in 2022? 😍 Hopefully a few festivals and food markets, but we do aim to have a launch party in the summer to provide nothing but vibes and incredible food so do look out for that.

Favourite side? 🍟 As much I love flavours, I do enjoy a side as basic and simplistic as chips.

Wet or dry wings? 💦 Wet all day long!

Spicy or sweet? 🔥 I am a ju**ie for a potent kick of spice in everything I eat, so hands down spice!
