Wow ⭐🤩 That was something!

As every year, this year The National Wedding Show was amazing! A bit smaller than I remember and yet a great experience.

I met lots of great people, found amazing suppliers and what's most important for me - new inspiration! There was a range of suppliers suited to a variety of budgets and expectations. Great photographers - this one is my favourite: , the most beautiful photographs I've ever seen, outstanding florists (I loved this company the most: ), experienced wedding coordinators and planners, great DJs and stunning Live Musicians... I could listen to Athena Strings for hours - and my daughter said she’d be more focused on the music than actually eating during meals if they played at the wedding. And of course, Wedding outfit showrooms where you could try on the outfit you dream of, they were gorgeous! - you have to see this! I was speechless.

But (since there's always a little but…) the Wedding dress catwalk gave me something to think about. Don't get me wrong, every single dress was beautiful in its own way but... it felt like the show was just for people size 8-10 at most. So it was a real disappointment 🙄 Hundreds of ladies and gents in all sizes, sitting and watching with such excitement but, this show wasn't really there for them. All the sizes were small, but why? The gowns and suits in bigger sizes would’ve helped them to decide on what kind of outfit they want. When they see their sizes on the catwalk, they're more likely to believe that someone also included them in the planning process. And yes, they can also look great even if they're a bit bigger or shorter… It would’ve been so nice to see curves on the catwalk too.

To be honest, we all know a true ‘perfect’ doesn't exist, we are all different, yet so perfect, so a ‘standard’ size doesn't make any sense. We cannot compare ourselves with others simply because the norm depends on where you come from and who’s portraying it!

A very small portion of the dresses present in the shows also looked... unfortunately a little sloppy 🤔 and far more oversized for the models than they should’ve been. I think that’s how I would describe them, sloppy. And don’t get me wrong, the dresses themselves were lovely, stunning and beautiful! Someone just chose the wrong gown for the wrong model. It’s okay, I get it, there's no time during the show - fair enough - but this should be done way way beforehand, a day or two before the actual day is minimal. A few hand mends and gentle touches would’ve done the job, not to destroy the stunning gowns; though some of them already did look like someone messed with them in all the wrong ways despite the potential being so immense!

There are 6 different types of wedding gown silhouettes/ classically elegant and traditional styles:
A-line,
Ball gown,
Empire waist style,
Column (or sheath),
Trumpet style (aka fit and flare)
and mermaid silhouette style.

But the trick in finding the perfect wedding dress...
One thing you must remember is that you are beautiful and you will certainly look great in your ideal dress just as you are. All wedding gowns are gorgeous but not all dresses will fit all body types. We are all different and the dress should be altered for *you*, you shouldn’t have to alter yourself for the dress. Try all the dresses you consider your ‘dream gown’! As many as you wish to, why not? It’s *your* big day!

This way you can put aside the ones you don’t like or don’t feel yourself in, and by method of elimination, you will choose the perfect one for you!

I remember myself when I was planning my wedding. 20 years ago to be precise, and I truly did not have much choice. In fact, I mostly didn’t want to cause trouble for my parents by charging them high costs (since in our tradition, parents buy the bride's dresses). I dreamt of a beautiful mermaid style wedding gown but I didn’t like how I looked in it despite it being the one I always wanted! Then I found ball style wedding dress somewhere in a magazine and I fell in love with it.

Why white?
There are many reasons why white is a favoured colour to wear on a wedding day. I’ve heard that it gained popularity following Queen Victoria's wedding to Prince Albert in 1840, she wore a bridal gown trimmed with Honiton lace, which led way to a trend of brides favouring decorative detailing on their bridal gowns. Most bridal collections seen on the catwalk and in magazines today are designed in a delicate Ivory tone as it compliments the skin tone. The bridal gowns designed by in-house accredited teams are available in Ivory, Blush, Oyster or Champagne. Many different colours also appear however, with many fabrics and styles to choose from!

Research
Did you know that a study expert found out that the less you spent on your wedding, the happier your relationship is in the future? That may be one of the keys to a long-lasting and happy marriage in a nutshell. An expensive wedding does not quote to a happy marriage. The reasons for this are still unclear. My clue is an affordable wedding! Perhaps it does not put you under financial strain so early in the relationship. Perhaps, well planned and affordable budget for your wedding indicates that you will feel comfortable with each other. Even if! You would be surrounded by modest but impressive decorations, simple but delicious snacks or not too big, but beautiful wedding cake made by one of your friends or your dad. Regardless of the reason, it is clear, no need to empty your bank accounts just to get married.

Baby Shower Blog

Are you the one? The best thoughtful friend or maybe you are that amazing family member who is planning to host a baby shower for a very lucky mom-to-be? If that is you, I’ve got a baby shower checklist for you, to help you plan a gorgeous shower that runs so smoothly that even you, the host, can have fun, stay relaxed and enjoy the party 🥳
I will tell you a secret, to throw a successful baby shower - you must to plan ahead.
Let’s start from beginning-
Budget - decide on a budget for the baby shower party, you need to decide wether you will cover all the costs or you will ask for the contribution;
Surprise or consult - consult the date with mom-to-be or make it as a surprise 🥳 just bear in mind whether or not the date will suit the most important guests- mom-to-be and the closest family and friends;
Guest list - compose a good guest list, if with mom-to-be, no problem 😉 if by yourself think carefully, baby shower supposed to be a great day for mom-to-be to live up to the expectation, (make sure you will collect all the names and addresses).
Theme- that’s my favourite, the theme! Balloons or flowers, pink or blue or maybe rainbow. We have so many choices nowadays so be creative 🤩 If you will ran out of the ideas visit my Pinterest page for some juices flowing project 💡
Location- that is an easy one because you can host the baby shower almost anywhere you want- a restaurant, a cafe, a tea parlor, a park, the beach, a sports venue, garden or, of course, your home.
My favourite is a restaurant. Why? Because it’s easier -regarding the food, (it will be ready for you so no cooking!), -regarding the decorations, a restaurant is a place that it is easy to decorate (if you choose the one that matches your theme) and no unnecessary furniture.
Check the availability and book the venue or make a table reservation if needed.
