Have you heard of 'Martyn's Law'? Did you know how much it's going to affect the industry?
The new legislation will affect the majority of publicly accessible premises and events in the UK to ensure they are better prepared for a possible terrorist attack, and is due to come into effect late this year or next year; following on from the 2017 Manchester Arena bombings.
We want to know your thoughts so let us know in the comments below!
Will “Martyn’s Law” apply to you, if so, what will you have to do? We have summarised the key features of the draft Bill.
In the run-up to the launch of our own podcast, if you didn't catch our EventHuddle on podcasting last July, guest speaker Jason Allan Scott wrote an informative blog for us on the topic.

After the acquisition of Venue Directory by Cvent back in July 2022, it's interesting news this morning to hear that Blackstone has acquired CVent. Becoming a global superpower in the events industry, what will the future hold for the industry and those within it as a result of these larger corporations coming together into one?

Press releases, portfolio company news, and timely updates on our business.
Have you heard of the concept of paying a 'premium' for waiting staff that look a certain way?
We explored the idea in our latest blog to see whether the idea is justified or simply a level of discrimination.

Can a company market a diversity cause when their internal culture doesn’t reflect this?
From ‘’Black lives matter’’ to ‘’green pledges’’ to the war in Ukraine and the passing of HM Queen, it has become the norm for companies to show a stance on matters in the public realm. Are these being reflected in the recruitment process, policies and culture or is it just corporate lip service that ends at midnight?
Corporate Social Responsibility can be used to make businesses promote and help increase awareness of social causes. This can help raise funding and create talking points as well as bringing awareness to a wider audience. However, is it right for a company to tackle these subjects when their internal policies don’t align, and the marketing can mislead the consumer.
This debate will take place on Tuesday 25th of October at 8am.

Our upcoming EventHuddle event will focus on whether a company should market a diversity cause when their internal culture doesn’t reflect this. From Black Lives Matter to the passing of HM Queen, it has become the norm for companies to show a stance on matters in the public realm. But are these stances being reflected within their internal policies and culture?
Companies, such as L’Oreal, have received negative feedback when trying to market diversity causes such as Black Lives Matter. The perception was that their internal policies and culture were not aligned with their marketing strategy.
Should companies have a view about political and topical events?
This debate will take place on Tuesday 25th of October at 8am.
