And here’s how we got here…brace yourself it’s been a long journey!!!

Exactly one year ago I went to trade fair and met the Ocado world foods buyer who loved the look of our blends. I was then fortunate to be hooked up with who helped me every step of the way and was a big part of allowing me, as a tiny little producer, to make the gigantic step towards the UK’s leading online grocer! I had to quickly upskill and upscale, get a manufacturer on board and run around like a lunatic for a good few months!

But here we are, and I’m so proud to be flying the flag helping to bring Sri Lankan food products to the mainstream, to each and every one of your doors in the UK!

Thanks to my mum, a huge part of my business, helping to craft blends, and to my whole family, hubby, kids and my dad for supporting me on my journey, that’s not been easy…..But has been totally worth it! Especially for moments like these ❤️❤️❤️

Our Sri Lankan Black Pork Curry Powder has just won another star!!! It is now the proud owner of 2 Great Taste Stars! Thanks to the Great Taste Awards 2025.

But there’s a little more history to that……some of you may have seen that we already won a star on this product in July but I just knew, that it deserved more! And that something needed to change, so we changed our kitchen instructions, and won an appeal to Great Taste, and last night we joined the 2 Star gang! Only 10% won 2 stars in the 2025 Great Taste awards, and it’s amazing to see this niche Sri Lankan product take centre stage in the world of food and get the recognition bold Sri Lankan flavours deserve!

We are now so unbelievably proud to have received a 3 star in 2024 for our Sri Lankan Roasted Curry Powder, and now a 2 star in 2025……..thanks so my utterly brilliant talented mum - for this is her creation, and a first of a kind!

Here’s the judges comments - we couldn’t agree more! And keep your eyes peeled as these will be listed in a few more exciting places very soon:

A deep chocolate-coloured spice with a warm and bright aroma. The flavour builds on the palate in layers, with clean brightness and a warmth that glows and lingers. A great balance of flavours that work in unison.

A piquant smoky flavour has really enhanced the meat, and excites the palate with a tingling mouthfeel. The balance of sour and tangy notes is perfect and there is a depth to the flavours that has achieved a resounding combination of resonating notes working together to produce a delicious mix, with a lingering and lovely finish.

Absolutely over the moon…..for a second year running my mum and I have have been lucky enough to win a Great Taste Award for our curry powders from

This year we won a 1 ⭐️ Great Taste Award for Hop & Roll Black Pork Curry Powder.

Last year we won a 3 ⭐️ Great Taste Award for Hop & Roll Sri Lankan Roasted Curry Powder!

Next year we’re coming for all the stars on everything!!!! ⭐️✨🌟

This says a lot….there are around 15,000 entrants for Great Taste every year…many of whom don’t win any stars, the standard is so high. Of those 15k, only a handful are curry powders (one of the hardest products to taste by themselves), and an even smaller number are Sri Lankan!

So I feel proud, very proud today. Of my mum who supports me all the way with my business, creating these amazing unique blends that are about as authentic as can be! And to myself…..for never giving up….sometimes we need these times to remind ourselves that we have amazing products and while running a small business (on the side!!) is a pretty damn hard thing to do….these moments keep me going and make me proud to be British Sri Lankan 🇱🇰 🇬🇧🎉🎉🎉🎉

For all those that haven’t tried Sri Lankan black fish curry (also known as Fish Ambulthiyal), this is a Sri lankan staple! This curry powder will allow you to produce a seriously distinctive fish curry….spicy, rich and tangy, with a “black” colour and slightly sour flavour, through the unique addition of Goraka into a blend of 9 other herbs & spices. For best results definitely use Tuna steaks and our signature recipe on our tin!

For all those that haven’t tried Sri Lankan black pork curry - this curry powder allows you to produce a spicy, rich and tangy dry pork curry, which has a “black” colour and slightly sour flavour, through the unique addition of Goraka into a blend of 11 other herbs & spices - for best results definitely use Pork Belly and our signature recipe on our tin! It’s really simple using our spice blends to produce authentic Sri Lankan dishes with ease!

This curry powder is the brainchild of my mum fused with some inspiration from my uncle Francis! Taking me back to all those family parties we went to as children where the most delicious black pork would be served up by my uncle on cocktail sticks! Today I’d love to pair that with Arrack 🤣
