On 21st August we celebrated the stunning refurbishment of our iconic Grade II Listed building. 🎉
Charles Armstrong, our founder, hosted a panel discussion with the Greater London Authority, London Borough of Haringey and Pride of Britain award winner, Gina Moffat from Gina’s at Bloomingscent, followed by a few words from the Mayor of Haringey Councillor, Sue Jameson.
With live music, lunch and inspirational words from Gina, everyone enjoyed the event! 👏🏻

For those that missed it, the natural is our latest project at Poplar. On the terrace we have flower beds filled with natural dye plants (marigolds, chamomile and dye’s madder to name a few) that our fashion members can use for all their dying needs. Up on the second floor at The Gantry sits a yellow-roofed house architecturally inspired by local 1960’s business, matchbox toys (which came in a yellow box). The company, with its mostly female workforce, was the largest employer in back in the day.

Locals, Lynsey Coughlan and Lindsay Lewis, are the couple behind this friendly local eatery on Fish Island’s canal towpath in Hackney Wick.
INIS is now open for breakfast, brunch & lunch, serving seasonal British and Irish food, coffee, wines and cocktails. Offering fresh, nourishing and delicious seasonal dishes, their ethos centres around generosity and inclusivity - quality food and drink in a relaxed and welcoming environment, designed for everyone.
Lynsey comes straight from heading up London’s popular chain of high-end, high-welfare butchers, The Ginger Pig and Lindsay is a graphic designer and art director with over 20 years of experience, predominantly within the F&B and hospitality industries.
Alongside Head Chef Craig Johnson (formerly of Arbutus and The Corner Room), the team will be working with local suppliers wherever possible, including the very best quality meat from The Ginger Pig, seasonal veg from Shrub and coffee from local roastery Bad Coffee.
The wine list has been put together by Clara Rubin (Hawksmoor, The Draper’s Arms, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, Home House) with a cocktail menu by Liam Davy (Hawksmoor, Bad Sports).
The cafe will be open initially from 7am-4pm weekdays, offering breakfast and lunch for 50 covers inside, with an extended brunch menu on Saturday, and roasts on Sunday. There are plans to open for dinner from the summer, with further outdoor seating for an additional 50 covers overlooking the canal so watch this space!

Yesterday, we hosted 60 fashion students from Loughborough Uni’s Venture Crawl at our Fish Island Village campus. University students were invited to immerse themselves in the world of entrepreneurship and innovation, to be inspired by the stories of real entrepreneurs and founders of exciting businesses.
As the largest fashion business campus in London, we were only to happy to show them round 🙂
What an honour and pleasure to host 's at the Trampery, Old Street yesterday. The Trampery's founder, Charles Armstrong, opened the event followed by an inspirational panel of fellow BCorp speakers including CEO, Nick Canney, founder, Frieda Gormley, and Sarah Walker-Smith, CEO of law firm, Shakespeare Martineau.
Each shared their BCorp journeys, aspirations and challenges with a room of 200 BCorp CEOs and many more via video link. There was a real sense of collaboration amongst the BCorps, with a shared mission to bring about the change the world needs to see. We're delighted to be part of that. Looking forward to many more events like these in the future.
The Trampery at is running its Community Support Programme again.
It's a great initiative where we provide free event space for three months to local community groups that are just starting up to help kickstart their ideas.
This time, we’re supporting Mission London, a community-driven streaming and online database music platform located in Tottenham. They’ll be using the space to run free workshops for young people to learn the skill of DJing. These workshops are open to all young people aged 18 to 30 who reside in the local area to all abilities.
