After two years, we are super excited to announce the return of our Classical Intensive, a special programme deeply rooted in the devotion to practice and tradition. For the third edition, we find a new home in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, under the guidance of our creative associate, Bharatanatyam artist, Mavin Khoo. This year, 32 participants are preparing to immerse themselves in an enriching week of exploration and discovery, supported by the British Council in Sri Lanka. We are excited to give you a glimpse behind the scenes, so stay tuned to our socials for a glimpse into this special week between 9-13 December. Trailer by Maxime Dos
On this Remembrance Sunday, we pause to honour the courage and resilience of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Their stories, woven into the fabric of our collective memory, live on through the art we create.
Chotto Xenos trailer by Maxime Dos
As we wrap up our birthday month, we take a moment to honour Akramâs final full-length solo work. XENOS explores the space where East meets West, past meets present, and myth meets technology. From Kaash and Sacred Monsters to DESH, Until the Lions and XENOS, each work has been a collaboration, shaped by the artists weâve worked with and by you, our audience. Here is to 24 years of storytelling through movement, and to another year of curiosity, courage and connection.
In this week's birthday reflection, we journey to our hauntingly epic piece #UntiltheLions, inspired by poet Karthika NaĂŻrâs reimagining of the Mahabharata, Until the Lions: Echoes from the Mahabharata. Akram's adaptation tells the tale of Amba, a princess abducted on her wedding day and stripped of her honour, invoking the gods to seek revenge.
Until the Lions brought together a wonderful creative team: writer Karthika NaĂŻr, visual designer Tim Yip, composer Vincenzo Lamagna, lighting designer Michael Hulls, with dramaturgy from dear friend Ruth Little.

As we continue to celebrate our birthday month, we take a moment to reflect on DESH - one of Akram's most personal works. Meaning âhomelandâ in Bengali, DESH draws on the struggle for balance in an unstable world and the resilience of the human spirit. This powerful solo later inspired Chotto Desh, adapted by Sue Buckmaster, now touring globally.
