Sarah Chittenden took on a skydive to raise funds for Dementia UK after both her Nana and Grandad suffered with the disease. Read below what Sarah had to say about why she took on the skydive and her experience:
“Both my Nana and Grandad suffered with Dementia. Both of them it affected differently but it was the hardest thing I’ve had to go through and watch. One thing I did realise was there really is not enough support or help out there for families who are put in the situation.
So, I decided to set myself a challenge in memory of Nana and Grandad and for Dementia UK when I applied to do the Skydive, I set out to raise £200, but I’m now currently sitting on an amazing £1030 I never ever dreamed of this amount. I have absolutely smashed my target. Raising money for Dementia UK has kind of become my therapy, it’s been the thing that helps to keep me positive.
Whatever money I raised will go towards helping other families going through what we went through to get the help and support they need.
I can honestly say that although I am such an adrenaline junkie before i done the skydive, I was so scared. But ultimately as soon as I fell out of the plane all of that was forgotten and it was the most amazing experience ever and would totally recommend this to anyone thinking about doing one. This is something that I am planning to do again.” 🪂

London to Brighton cycle for St George's Hospital Charity
Join St George's Hospital Charity as they ride from London to Brighton in aid of their £5 million Children’s Appeal – Time for a Change.
St George’s is home to one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country, with paediatric services rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are the people that parents rely on when the worst happens to their children. Our outstanding care is world renowned. But our facilities are not.
Help us to raise £5m by 2024 to transform children’s services at St George’s. Together we could:
• Increase our PICU by a third
• Transform the wards into bright and welcoming spaces, a home away from home for our children and their families
• Create better facilities for our staff who work so tirelessly to provide our outstanding care. It’s time for a change.
By signing up to the London to Brighton cycle ride 2022 and supporting St George’s Hospital Charity you can make a difference. Follow this link to support - https://www.stgeorgeshospitalcharity.org.uk/shop/london-to-brighton-cycle 🧡
