Last week was transformed for a very special Bridgerton-themed corporate Christmas party. From our traditional court dancers welcoming guests to an unforgettable performance by Urban Soul Orchestra string sextet, playing a Bridgerton-inspired pop/classical repertoire with a modern twist, it was a night straight out of a period drama.

We also brought our floral bodies concept to life once again, keeping the caged corset format but adapting the designs with pearls, feathers, sequins, hand-painted butterflies, and stunning floral arrangements. All perfectly complemented ’s exquisite pastel scheme and fantastic themed props and event dressing.

Soprano and presenter Laura Wright hosted the event and later joined Urban Soul as a guest vocalist for a dynamic finale performance.

“If an act exists, we know about it. If it doesn’t, we create it.” 🪄

While our roster features thousands of acts, we often design something completely bespoke to perfectly match the theme or vibe of an event.

When it comes to strolling characters, the costumes are essential—they set the tone and often act as ice breakers, sparking conversation as guests arrive. Here are just a few of our favourite custom meet-and-greet creations:

🌸 Flower Power Stilts for the Woodstock-themed event last year.

👑 Marie Antoinette-inspired meet-and-greet characters for the Kensington Palace Orangery Relaunch.

🎻 Floral Violin Dress created for a conference closing party at The Natural History Museum

🖼 Goddess of the Gallery—our life-drawing model at the National Gallery’s Bicentenary party.

🪩 Studio 54-inspired horse head dancers for relaunch at The Langham

The By Word of Mouth Halloween party is always a highlight of the calendar, a night where the events industry can let loose, get dressed up, and have a blast, ready for the impending busy season. This year was no different. We were thrilled to bring in amazing party band Flood the Floor who kept the energy high at the event, held at the BWOM HQ. What a night! 🎉

Tuesday night saw exceptional caterers Moving Venue celebrate their 40th anniversary (weird, they don’t look a day over 39!) The event, which took place at The Natural History Museum, had a ‘Rebellious Nature’ theme.

Alongside the incredible talent of our band Salut and an awe-inspiring handbalance show (more on these acts to come!) our one-of-a-kind Cabaret/Chicago Musical Theatre performance, complete with bespoke costumes and choreography, took centre stage on the iconic Natural History Museum steps.

Here’s to another 40 years of extraordinary events!

First Dance Tips! (Pt 1)

🪩 1. Choose your song carefully
Make sure it’s something that’s meaningful to both of you and that fits the pace of the dance that you envisage. The tone of your chosen song may appear to be romantic at first listen but have a really good look at the lyrics to check it’s not a breakup song or a song about unrequited love! This includes any hidden meanings or connotations that you might not have thought of.

🪩 2. Practice makes perfect
A couple of lessons with an instructor beforehand is a great way of giving you confidence on the day. And it doesn’t have to be a choreographed dance, even getting tips from a professional on holds, where to put your hands, a couple of steps, a twirl and a lift (if you’re brave!) will take the dance from awkward school disco shuffle to the next level. Budget and time restraints may mean that hiring a professional isn’t an option but there are loads of tutorials online, there might even be moves available on YouTube to your specific song. Film yourselves practising so you can watch it back and see what might be improved.

🪩 3. Get on your dancing shoes!
A full dress rehearsal may be tricky if as a bride you don’t want the groom to see your dress but make sure you try out your moves on a similar flooring to the one in your venue in the clothes and footwear you’ll be wearing. Comfort is key! Then when it comes to it you know whether you might need to remove a jacket for example or swap in more comfortable or more grippy shoes.

🪩 4. Timing is everything
Anything over 3 minutes and your guests will start to get restless (unless you’ve got the skills of a strictly pro!) we recommend a sweet spot of between 90 seconds and 3 minutes so that the dance is given its moment without it dragging on. It’s a good idea to find the section of the song that you want to dance to and get the DJ or band to create / perform a clipped version that segues into a floor filler to officially start the party element of the night. Guests can be gestured onto the dance floor by the couple or via the PA / MC.

Who watched the Glastonbury coverage over the weekend?

We love seeing all the amazing headliners and all the bands on the smaller stages (from the comfort of the sofa this year!) but its also a great opportunity for us to find new events-industry friendly performers in the Theatre and Circus fields as well as spotting some of our existing acts out in the wild!

What were your highlights at this year’s ?

We provided music courtesy of Camilla and Emma on electric harp and violin respectively.

Our golden bodypainted “Goddess of The Gallery” was a bespoke creation that we commissioned specifically for the event. Wearing a stunning emerald green dress and dramatic gold headdress topped with fresh flowers, she was used as a model for guests during a life drawing activity at the event.

We were delighted to play a part in The Corinthia’s wedding showcase the other week.

Guests were treated to gorgeous food and drink in the stunning setting of the ballroom and we provided a variety of entertainment for the upcoming wedding season.

Ribbon dancers performed at the entrance for guests’ arrival as well as on the dance floor later on, the musical ambiance came courtesy of the ever brilliant Ember string trio and guests were treated to a handbalance performance from Felipe after dinner.

We also launched our fantastic new band a high energy yet reasonably priced ensemble who had guests on the dance floor with a fab set list of classics, current pop faves and some guilty pleasures thrown in for good measure!

A fab evening working alongside some incredible suppliers!

With the news that Rihanna was paid $6.3 million to perform at an Indian tycoon’s wedding last weekend, we’re taking a look at some other big bookings at celebrity weddings over the years.

Wayne & Colleen Rooney booked The Stereophonics for their nuptials in 2008

Idris Elba DJed at the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2019

Stevie Nicks performed at Adam Levine and Behati’s wedding in 2014

Ellie Goulding perfromed at Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding in 2011

Justin Timberlake performed at his own wedding to Jessica Biel in 2012 (a bit cringe?)

If money was no object, which megastar or band would you book for your wedding?
