💐 The flowers are never sprayed when in flower which protects several varieties of bees and other insects which are feeding. Dotted about the paddock are hives which encourage these bees which, in turn help pollination. You can our buzzy friends having a lovely time in a previous reel.

A bit about our Kenyan Farm:
🌸 Located in beautiful Nanyuki, Kenya
🌸 Once the British growing season is over produce is harvested at our carbon-neutral sister farm, Tambuzi.
🌸 The farm is accredited at the highest levels in social and environmental standards employing a local community workforce of approximately 500 men and women who hand-pick the roses, herbs and foliage then prepare the stems for transport to the UK workshop.
🌸 Importing flowers from the Kenyan farm does not compromise commitment to sustainability. The optimal growing conditions in Kenya ensure a ready supply of natural heat and light.
🌸 Roses are flown in on commercial flights to ensure excess carbon is not emitted into the environment

How we help to keep our farm sustainable 🐝 We have planted a hectare of red clover above the rose paddock, which provides a haven for bees. We also have hives dotted around the farm and continually take care to support and encourage the bee population. We use integrated pest-management techniques to ensure that the way we grow our flowers has a minimal impact – or where possible a positive impact – on the environment. We introduce and encourage beneficial insects such as lacewings, hoverflies and ladybirds. We have a meadow close to the rose paddock that helps us to attract a diverse insect population.
