Last but not least, we would like to celebrate a very special cast member. Fejka Ikea, a constant reassuring presence in the Love Doctor's consulting room, has a role at once tangential and pivotal in The Morning After. A school visit from her native Sweden to see As You Like It at Stratford-upon-Avon confirmed the young Fejka’s ambition to join those giants of the English stage, the mighty trees in the Forest of Arden. She is still determined to grow into a Shakespearean woodland role while grateful that her Meisner Technique training has given her the emotional depth to perform as a weeping fig. She won an Offie for Best Supporting Shrub in a Stage Play in a fringe production of Arcadia by Tom Stoppard and will soon be seen in a BBC2 adaptation of Gulliver’s Travels in which she plays an elm tree. Fejka has added a sense of groundedness and new growth to the Monorogue company for which we are profoundly grateful.

John was among the first Monorogue players and The Morning After will be his fifth show with us. Those who saw Seven Deadly Sins will remember John’s take-lots-of-prisoners judge host. In 2017, John played the title character in the comedy short ‘Tobes’, which he also wrote and produced. The film was officially selected for several film festivals in the UK and US. You will now spot Tobes among the Love Doctor’s patients in The Morning After clinic. John’s recent theatre credits include Trigorin in The Seagull, Protheus in Two Gentlemen Of Verona, Johnny in Lovers and Other Strangers and Mitchell in Best Served Cold, a finalist for the Kenneth Branagh Award for new writing.
