"Hard work got Liverpool to where they are this season" - Arne Slot

Arne Slot believes hard work and intensity have been key to Liverpool's form ahead of their Premier League meeting with Aston Villa on Saturday.

Slot has won 14 of his 16 matches in all competitions since taking charge at Anfield and, despite his magnificent start, he pointed out that it has not been easy.

"You only look at results. Brighton was a difficult one on Saturday where we were 1-0 behind and had to fight really hard and that is what you saw," he told the Independent.

"We have to work really hard with incredibly high intensity to win our games and that has a lot to do with teams who think Anfield is the best place to play, so every team we play against is at the top of their game. If you want to win you always have to be consistent in your intensity."

PLAYER TO WATCH - Mohamed Salah
No player has been involved in more Premier League goals than Mohamed Salah (12) so far this season, with seven goals and five assists. He has also had the most touches in the opposition box this term (96), while of players to have had 20+ shots, no-one has hit a higher percentage of them on target (67% - 20/30).
The Egyptian has scored in four of his last five appearances at Anfield in all competitions, while he was also credited with two assists in the 4-0 victory over Leverkusen last time out.

Though Roger Waters was Pink Floyd’s chief songwriter and conceptualist, Gilmour, who sang most of the songs and played the breaks, defined the band’s sound. His set tonight strikes a balance between honouring that legacy and emphasising his independence. After six nights here, he plays runs at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Hollywood Bowl and Intuit Dome in California and New York’s Madison Square Garden. It may be his last tour.

Gilmour unrolls that first guitar chord on Pink Floyd’s Breathe. Theatrical smoke fills the stage, the audience roars its approval, and as the song segues into Time (and the original 1974 film animation plays out on the back-screen), Gilmour strikes a second chord that’s the equal of Tony Iommi’s on Black Sabbath’s Iron Man.

After a brief exit, the ensemble returns for Comfortably Numb that has the crowd singing and rushing the stage. It’s a genuine moment of healing. All smiles, Gilmour and his band do a quick can-can and leave the stage to a roar of approval loud enough to raise up the dead.

Taylor Swift's second round of London dates and final European shows of the Eras Tour are finally here, with the singer returning to Wembley Stadium for five further nights, starting tonight.

Treating fans to three hours of some of her best loved hits, Eras Tour songs span her incredible 17-year-long career and all of her 11 albums, from 1989 to Midnights, all the way through to The Tortured Poets Department.

In addition to a packed set of some of her biggest hits, fans will also get to enjoy to a stellar line-up of support acts beforehand too, including Paramore along with an additional extra guest for each night.

Andy Murray and Jamie Murray are set to compete in this year's gentlemen's doubles at Wimbledon after being allocated a wild card for the event.
Andy's participation in The Championships 2024 was cast into doubt after he was forced to retire injured at Queen's Club last week, and subsequently underwent surgery for a spinal cyst issue.

The two-time Wimbledon singles champion has also indicated throughout the year that this summer will likely mark the end of his illustrious tennis career, saying today that he wanted to play at Wimbledon "one more time".

And he took a step closer to fulfilling that wish following the allocation of a wild card for him and his brother Jamie.

While the duo have competed together on a number of occasions for Great Britain in the Olympics and Davis Cup, this would be the first time they have played together at Wimbledon.

Neither Jamie or Andy have won the gentlemen's doubles before, although Jamie reached the final in 2015, and was victorious in the mixed doubles in 2007 and 2017.
