IT TAKES TWO

It’s been a while since we posted any pictures of ourselves! Bringing our clients’ beautiful visions to life is hot and tiring business but our aim for the 2024 season is to get some pics of us where we don’t actually *look* tired and hot! Maybe Emma will even keep her heels on for more than 20 minutes. If you know anything about wedding planning, you’ll know that a photo of us *not* lighting candles isn’t possible.
We are excited for some phenomenal celebrations this year - please send coffee, comfortable shoes and a cooling breeze!

COME RAIN OR SHINE

The reality of a wedding or celebration, no matter where you are in the world, is that the weather comes with no guarantees. Swipe through to see ‘Insta’ (smiley, albeit quite hot under the Spanish sun) versus reality - some very serious concentration faces as we cover, uncover and maybe recover the beautiful table setting to protect it from a shower that came from nowhere. And we couldn’t even blame it on the British summer this time!

BOATHOUSE BOW

Nestled in the heart of Central Park is an emblem of timeless elegance and was the perfect backdrop so C+ J’s sophisticated New York wedding (and thankfully stayed open long enough to host their day!). Classic monochrome was the base for details that were beautifully artistic from the pearlescent abstract bow cake to the long stem rose bouquets wrapped with plush velvet ribbon 🎀

OUR SUPPLIERS & VENDORS

We couldn’t successfully plan any of our weddings or events without our family of suppliers and vendors. They are often more behind-the-scenes than us but they are just as dedicated to your celebrations as we are; of this there is no doubt. This photo carousel showcases some of the UK’s best and most well-known suppliers who we’ve worked with over the years, but also some newer talent who can absolutely hold their own. Trust is a huge part of the relationship between a couple and their planner and we are proud that ours trust us to identify the best, no matter the length of time on their CV.

HAVE YOUR CAKE

T+M’s four-tier, hand-painted stunner of a cake perfectly reflected the overall wedding design, with the gold detailing giving it an elevated finish. sourced exquisite chinoiserie vases for the tables which of course matched the colour scheme but were also a perfect yet subtle nod to our bride’s Chinese heritage. The stunning stationery contained its own hidden references to the venue, too….🙈🙉🙊

DRESSED TO PERFECTION

Our stunning bride M opted for the most elegant of dresses for her big day; her bouquet contained the perfect hint of blue to tie it into the rest of the wedding design and of course the blue of the Wedgwood Suite, which you can peek in the first photo. M has Chinese heritage and wanted to honour that with a small, intimate Chinese tea ceremony before the main event, wearing the bold and beautiful red dress in the last photo.

SOMETHING BLUE

The Monkey Island Estate in Bray might be best known for its unique name, but its hidden gem is the Grade I-listed Wedgwood Suite with a truly iconic jasperware blue ceiling. We worked with our gorgeous couple, M+T, to subtly weave this colour throughout their celebrations to create cohesion between the outside and the inside. Bud Flora executed the brief to perfection.

THE NIGHT

Sparklers, dancing on the bar, personalised cocktails, banging tunes and a surprise appearance from DJ Marshmello (or was it?) - a fitting end A+J’s celebrations. The revelry extended into the following day with a group honeymoon to Ibiza, truly starting married life as they plan to continue it!

THE EVENING

For their wedding breakfast, A+J wanted opulence and a marked change from the look of the pastel alfresco welcome dinner the night before. A celebratory champagne tower led guests into the orangery at Babington House where they were wowed by candlelight and gold accents filling the room. Attention to detail was key for our bride who designed the monogrammed napkins and named the tables after their favourite places to party.

THE DAY

A+J’s wedding day was just sublime. We are truly running out of new ways to describe the perfection that was the weather, the floristry, the stationery, the couple themselves, the dress, the suit, just everything. Babington’s chapel was adorned with abundant florals, chandeliers and meaningful accents; a true collaboration between us, the couple and the best suppliers in the UK.

HAPPINESS x 2

C+A wanted their Chinese heritage to be reflected in their celebrations in a subtle way. We achieved this through weaving custom illustrated Chinese Zodiac details for the table names and hidden double happiness symbols into a joyful and fresh colour scheme.

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW

One way to keep your wedding design fresh and modern is to create a juxtaposition of sorts. For C+A's wedding, we paired contemporary ghost chairs with the heritage building and plasterwork, allowing the details to (literally) shine through. Bright yet soft Summer pastel florals and custom neon signage added a playful touch and matched the rainbow that we ordered especially for the big day!

COUNTRYSIDE CHARM

Who said that countryside weddings have to be rustic, too? Crumplebury in Worcestershire is the perfect mix of rural location with contemporary style. We played to the contemporary elements with modern detailing - a neon sign, modern furniture and clean, sharp stationery.

IT’S IN THE DETAILS

B&A’s original wedding date was delayed by a year due to covid; the positive side of this was having more time to focus on the personal details and little touches. Our bride was very clear about her style vibe - modern in a rural setting. Australia does this look so well, so that is where we drew our inspiration from. Our cake maker, Charlotte of merged three different concepts to create the final amazing cake with floating tier. Placed on top of the baby grand piano, it was a showstopper when guests arrived for the post-dinner cocktail reception.

SUMMER OF LOVE

We love this time of year; not only is it full of newlywed bliss, we also get to celebrate the anniversaries of our past couples, too. It’s been a year since Becki & Anton’s celebrations in the Worcestershire countryside on one of the hottest weekends of 2023! The gorgeous church florals, mixing pampas grasses with English roses, gave guests a hint of what was to follow at the reception. Influenced by modern Australian weddings, who says countryside nuptials have to be twee, too?
