Second hand September.

I always try to buy clothes and accessories that I will wear again and again. This shirt/kaftan/dress has been in my wardrobe for many years. I bought it in a charity shop in Brighton at least 15 years ago.

I would say roughly 80% of my wardrobe is second hand. Especially trophy items. The things I buy new are trainers and basic underwear etc. Who is prepared to take into October. Nobody is perfect but we should all be more aware of what we are buying.

I am also fully aware that Nico is stood next to me wearing a T.shirt 😜 (gifted by a friend) But it was his carnival finery 💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺

A Christmas earring is not just for Christmas right?? These disco danglers would suit a sunny festival as much as a Christmas rave up.

On Saturday I went to fabulous clothes swish hosted by .thistle.edit and it was just fab to be able to swap clothes as I am really trying hard with not buying new. I have always loves charity shops, car boot sales and vintage fairs. This was how my jewellery making journey started when I was a child. Remaking, repurposing and upcycling old and broken costume jewellery into something new and bright. The only new beads that I add now are the smiley faces. All other beads have had a previous life.

Just working on the next batch of bracelets that will be making their way to at the end of the week. I am so proud to be selling on the iconic Brick Lane in such a fab store.

Just a little reminder that the beads are repurposed and upcycled from old costume and vintage jewellery. Quite often these pieces are broken and simply unloved. The only new ones are the smiley faces and the neon perspex charms which means Each piece is totally unique. Each one is made with love by me, in East London.

I'm still working in that 'autumn winter' jewellery collection.
I have just listed these earrings on Etsy as a starter.
What an episode of the July issue was. I will share some more in stories.
I used to religiously read Vogue when I was at uni studying fashion and textiles but now I find it a bit inaccessible. But THIS shoot was INCREDIBLE.

So it's happening. Autumn is upon us. Can you believe it? Did we miss summer??

I am overjoyed to have found this freshly painted grey wall in Dalston. How long until it's covered in graffiti?? Place your bets!?

I struggle with technology.
I dislike emails. I done know how to download music and I still own CDs with boxes.
I have a paper and pen diary and I still send cards and letters to family and friends. I have to be using my hands and I love physical items not digital.
Is anyone with me or am I really showing my age??

Bracelets made from repurposed beads. For any new followers this has been a passion of mine for many many years. This has come about from a somewhat 'hoarder' like collection of vintage beads and costume jewellery.
I love the plastic against the more natural wood and shells. The white square one is glass. Some absolute treasures!
The only new beads are the smilies, and letters for personalised jewellery. Always sending smiles!
Anyone else have any hoarding tendencies??? Tell me!
I think it's a creative thing!? 🤷
