Operations Manager - Goldsmiths Community Centre

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the centre. This includes:
Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors, tenants, and staff.
Managing staff (including volunteers) and fostering a positive and productive team atmosphere.
Scheduling and overseeing the use of the centre's facilities.
Developing and implementing operational procedures to ensure efficiency.
Budgeting and managing financial resources effectively.
Liaising with tenants, visitors, external organisations, and funders.
Contributing to the development of the centre's strategic plan.

Who We Are Looking For:
A well-organised individual with a proven track record in managing teams and operations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
A commitment to health and safety regulations.
Proficiency in IT applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
A passion for community development and creating a positive social impact.

This week we are going back to our roots, trying to chronicle some of the rich heritage of food growing in our local community. And we're loving this picture of the flower and vegetable show of the August Bank Holiday, 1939. We think this was 28 August 1939, just a few days before Neville Chamberlain announced in a radio broadcast that the country was at war.

EXCITING NEWS from our Friends of Forster Memorial Park

Forster Park is one of 22 new Rewilding London projects!

Lewisham Council applied to the The Wildlife Trust and Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan’s Rewild London fund and has been successful. They will be working in partnership to restore the ancient woodland and enhance biodiversity of our beautiful SE London park 💚🌳🌱🍃💚🪵🌳

Well done to all the brilliant volunteers in Friends of Forster Memorial Park who worked on this bid and do so much brilliant work to make the park a better place for all.

The first volunteering session is from 10am today - meet by the cafe.
