Yesterday marked a special day indeed. The first marquee wedding in over a year and a half 🎪. The first marquee wedding as .e17 🍃 . It was everything and more. Covid has thrown all the spanners at the wedding & catering industry and I feel so proud that we’ve made it through. Merging my business with yours was the best thing to come from all this.

So today is a big day. I met 1 week before lockdown 1.0 when she whirled into the kitchen to give me a loaf of her sexy sourdough as a gift. Little did I know it would be the start of something incredible. The country was shut down and both our catering businesses crumbled overnight. We picked each other up and worked together to bring our food to your doorsteps instead, as well as feeding some of our wonderfully cheerful self isolating clients with . We have worked through all the rule changes, fear of losing the kitchen, wondering if we’d ever get events back & some darn right questionable times. However we quickly realised that we’d be better, stronger and more creative together as a permanent partnership and thus .e17 was born. We have been supported by the scaffolding of friends, family & an ace team of suppliers, chefs & freelancers and we are soooo grateful. So from today & will officially merge to become .e17 - so head over there for all your foodie needs including Dine In to Help Out & everything Christmas right to your doorstep. Xx

Boeuf Bourguinon (feat. lovingly sourced beef from the babes), cooked achingly slowly over 6 hours, a silky & reduced sauce, brown butter & truffle mash, roasted cavolo nero & charred lemon: what damp, dark, autumnal nights were designed for. • Flat out, nose in the coal face sort of day (mixed metaphors, yes quite aware thank you 😉) but SO GOOD TO BE BACK! Dine In to Help Out deals are back and with our braised lamb shank Massaman curry (sauce separate to pic) & fragrant rice went this tangy little slaw (dressing recipe below). Lots of deliveries this afternoon across London and we’re just beyond happy and grateful for so many orders. So thanks a mill — every order from you means a little more in the tank and keeps our morale going against the fears the catering industry faces with Covid19.

Zingy Slaw Dressing, roughly: 2 parts sesame oil, one part soy sauce, 1.5 parts rice wine vinegar, 1 grated garlic clove, tiny pinch of chilli flakes and a dash of honey (and a baby glug of rice wine if you’ve got it). Chopped roasted peanuts, Thai basil (aka holy basil), coriander. Slosh it over any sort of raw veg (or use as a marinade) and you’re. Good. To. Go.

Double oven (a newbie’s been added since these pictures were taken), more dry & cold storage than you could possibly imagine, commercial dishwasher, benches, all equipment, office/tasting room, free parking, 24hr access and on the doorstep. We are Emily Eats

Emily Eats started as a blog created by our head chef and owner Emily Woollcombe-Adams. Emily always had a passion for cooking, but realised that you can only cook dinner for your friends so many times before you become broke. By creating her own recipes, styling and photographing them she found a new creative outlet for her love of food. The blog quickly turned into a catering and events business with people contacting her from the blog and social media asking her to bring her food back to the real world. We cater for weddings, corporate events, birthdays...you name it. We’re here to help take care of the food, you just need to eat!
