The Gotta Sing! team are adding a new course to their portfolio, song writing.
Following 11 years of successfully teaching people to sing and perform for an audience, from absolute beginners to professional singers and actors we're applying our tried and trusted training methods to give you the skills to write your own song and then perform it for family and friends.
Our amazing musical director Greg Arrowsmith has worked in London's West End and all over the world, composing, conducting, arranging and teaching for over 20 years. He has worked with some of the biggest names in musical theatre, opera, pop, jazz but is just as happy working with children and amateurs too, everyone should enjoy the gift of music and song!
Greg will explain how songs are composed, how rhythms, rhymes and patterns work, how to set lyrics to time signatures and how to use melody and harmony.
You don't need to be able to read or write music, but you'll decide how you'd like the song to sound and collaborate with Greg as your lyrics are set to original music for you to sing at the end of the course. This is a great opportunity to branch out and try something different, creating an artistic work personal to you in a supportive environment.
It would also suit those who've already tried their hand at song writing and want to develop their work and learn new techniques and tips to take things to the next level.
The course takes place at London's Phoenix Arts Club, where we have exclusive use for 3 days from 12th-14th August. A buffet lunch is provided every day with drinks, tea & coffee.
