Its officially National Curry Week
October 6th to October 13th sees the annual celebration of one of the nation's favourite foods.
Ever since the 1970s, curry houses have been a beloved staple of the British food scene, serving up rich, aromatic dishes that have become as quintessentially British as fish and chips. From the vibrant balti houses of Birmingham to the legendary curry mile in Manchester, these restaurants have not only satisfied our cravings but have also become cultural institutions in their own right.
As we celebrate National Curry Week, it's the perfect time to honour the legacy of the curry house and the generations of chefs who have brought the flavours of South Asia into our hearts—and onto our plates. Whether you’re partial to a fiery vindaloo or a comforting tikka masala (unofficially dubbed the UK’s national dish), there's no denying the impact curry has had on Britain’s culinary identity.
And of course, no celebration would be complete without a nod to our very own resident curry master Ravish, whose passion, palate, and perfectly spiced dishes continue to set the gold standard.
So here's to curry houses, National Curry Week, and to Ravish—keeping the spice alive, one dish at a time.
