PLANT TIPS! We love a bird of paradise plant. There are 2 types of Bird of Paradise that we sell in the shop. Here's the differences and what you need to know:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

* Strelitzia reginae is the orange flowering variety of plant. It has slim leaves that look a bit like boat paddles.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
* Strelitzia nicolai is the White Bird of Paradise and produces white flowers. It looks like a banana plant with wider, flatter leaves.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Both look really tropical and bring instant lushness to interiors.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We love them because of their stunning architectural leaves which unfurl, already formed from the centre of the plant on tall, spear-like stalks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Need both types need much light- we suggest them when people are looking for large plants that can tolerate very light and hot spots in their homes.They both love misting and a wipe with a clean cloth to remove dust from the leaves to keep them looking tip-top.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

These plants have the potential to grow BIG. if they are happy they can reach a stunning 20 feet tall (but that's unlikely unless you have optimum greenhouse conditions). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

- Splitting leaves is normal. It stops those huge leaves turning into sails in the wild.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
-They are unlikely to flower inside because of the warmth and humidity needed to produce flowers. The plant also needs to reach a certain maturity first. When you see small plants with flowers they are often artificial. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Can you put them outside? YES! just bring them in it gets cooler, they aren't UK winter hardy unless you happen to have a sheltered and mild micro-climate. They need a min overnight temp of 10-12°C (50-54°F)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
