Kimatica Studio

Kimatica Studio We are a London based creative studio funded in 2012. THE TEAM: Maria Almena: Creative director. Nestor Rubio: Technical director. Susana Rodero: Designer.

We are a London-based creative studio exploring the intersection between human body, live performance and interactive technology to create avant-garde immersive transformative experiences that seek to dissolve the boundaries between illusion and reality. Working at the intersection of the human body, performance and interactive technology, we create unique digital experiences that dissolve the bou

ndaries between fantasy and reality. Our artistic practise explores concepts of human consciousness and perception, making those transcendental ideas accessible to a modern audience, to inspire reconnection with the magical thinking. We’ve also provided our skills and vision to commercial clients, where we translate our concepts and ideas into more approachable experiences to connect with a wider public. Hannah Andrews: Producer. Finding the light in the dark. 🕯️

The fires in Spain are devastating, but community solidarity is inspiring.

Volunteers are setting up emergency centres, providing meals, and taking care of the thousands of people forced to evacuate. True social impact is how we show up for each other in the hardest moments. 🙏

This is why we design experiences that facilitate human connection. ✨

These images are from a previous Kimatica workshop where young dancers connected and moved in collaboration with a digital fire.
A powerful metaphor for transforming a destructive element into a space for collective empathy and healing.

Water is life. And right now, our land needs it more than ever. 💧

Europe's climate crisis, we are proud to announce a new research collaboration with to explore how to highlight the spiritual, community-building power of water.

This new research brings us back to our last major environmental activation: protecting our oceans with .global in Ibiza (video teaser at the link in our bio!).

Data gives us the facts, but art makes us feel them. When we connect deeply with our ecosystem, we fight to protect it.

Stepping into the unknown requires a safe container. Meet the Guardians of our immersive rituals. 🌀✨

When we design collective transformational experiences, we don't just rely on techniques. We rely on deep, human connection and how to create a safe space.

In this BTS Reel from our Amsterdam rehearsals, you get a glimpse of the immersive actors who make this journey possible. They are there to guide you through three vital stages:

👁️ Preparation: Grounding the nervous system and setting intentions with a neon totem.

🌿 Protection: Holding space as a safe, physical anchor while the room enters a deep trance.

🌌 Integration: Holding the absolute silence at the end so you can safely process the experience.

The tech opens the portal, but the Guardians hold the door. 👇

It is all about journey 💫 ✈️

Taking a massive, imnersive ritual on the road is no small feat. After 4 years of official university research in the UK, it was finally time to pack up the sensors, the lasers, and the costumes, and bring Transcendence to the international stage.

Today’s Reel is a little BTS of our travel journey, from packing up the Kimatica Studio to touching down in the Netherlands to close out the iconic ICPR Conference!

It takes a village to transport the "daimonic theatre of the soul" across borders. 👽✨

We are dropping the official show teaser next week, but for now, come on the road with us! 👇

We are deep in technical rehearsals for the closing ritual in Amsterdam, and this week is all about sensory integration.

To help people drop out of their racing, analytical minds, we use intense 'Sensory Design' in our last research seminar developed with experts from

Our sound designer uses a mix of timeless drones, pitch processing, and complex, entropic rhythms.

We actively bring noise into the composition because it is beautifully irrational. It intentionally disrupts the rational mind, breaking through your everyday defense mechanisms to drop you straight into the meditative state of the "now".

Enter, trespass, and emerge forever altered. 🌀

After years of focusing on academic research, with our Transcendence Design project, we are finally returning to practice and to the physical stage!

We have been invited to design the closing ritual ceremony for the iconic by in Amsterdam! 🇳🇱✨

ICPR is the oldest psychedelic conference in Europe. We are bringing our decade of Transcendence research to their main stage to create a phantasmagoria of visual art, immersive sound, and ritual design. We are reclaiming art experiences as a tool for deep, human connection and positive therapeutic impact.

Who is coming to Amsterdam?!

Welcome to our Transcensence Lab, a "daimonic theatre of the soul." 👽✨

We’ve officially finished our 4-year research cycle with the UK’s leading universities with our Transcendence Research & Ritual Performance Desig project, and now finally back to practice again! 🌌

Currently focused on the preparations for our first international Transcendence Ritual since our research period started, and the big announcement is about to drop!💥

This week is all about going back to R&D: mapping human movement to light and sound to create a true portal for transcendence through syncronicity with the human body and integrating our recently developed ritual design framework. 🤓

This Reel showcases behind the scene and selected parts of our first ever Transcendence Theatre piece at

Our Creative Director has an update on Transcendence!

💫 🌌 10 years ago, the vision for our Transcendence Research & Ritual Performance Design project was born.

In 2018, we published our very first academic paper exploring how we can use interactive technology and live performance to induce altered states of consciousness and design immersive contemporary rituals that help us reconnect with our bodies and each other, responding to the global isolation crisis by creating a truly positive therapeutic impact. 🌿

💻 For the last 4 years, we have been deep in official research with four top UK universities (much to share about this, too).

Now, we are officially bringing this magic back to a live audience for a massive, international performance, announcement this week 👀✨

Can digital tools help us tell ancient stories? 🌀

That’s one of the core questions behind our Transcendence research project. Last week, we explored it deeply during our seminar with SOAS University of London. 🏛️

Instead of using tech to escape reality, we dream of using it to root us back into our shared human experience. We are building new, immersive rituals where technology becomes a bridge to the magical and the spiritual realms. 🌌

To give you a feel for what this actually looks like, we're dropping a few teaser reels from our immersive ritual, TOTEM. Check out today’s clip! 🎥✨

Storytellers and creators, how do you weave traditional narratives into your digital experiences?
