We Need To Talk About Dayaan

Allow me to introduce you to Dayaan.

Dayaan is a bubbly, fun, and energetic little boy who loves cars and all he wants for Christmas this year is a red Lamborghini!!!
However, life has been pretty tough for Dayaan but he refuses to let it get him down or affect his happiness.

Dayaan is currently a patient at The Royal London Hospital and has cancer of the eye.
He was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in August 2022 at the tender age of 3.5 years.

He has had systemic chemotherapy (6 cycles) then he relapsed straight after.
This was followed by intra-arterial chemotherapy (6 cycles) which he relapsed again.
He went on to have intra-vitriol chemotherapy (5 cycles).

Dayaan has regular monthly visits to The Royal London Hospital to check his eye and has had over 30 general anesthetic procedures which has left him exhausted since his diagnosis.

Dayaan is currently stable but he still has a long way to go on his cancer journey at such a young age.

Dayaan's Mum says, "We cannot even begin to express how amazing the play team and staff have been during Dayaan's journey at The Royal London Hospital.
Gemma in particular (RB Play Specialist, pictured with Dayann) and the team have always gone above and beyond for Dayaan and our family as a whole. Dayaan looks for Gemma the minute we get to the hospital which is so comforting.

The Play team has helped him in so many ways, such as managing his anxiety and distress before going into treatment, and have created personalised games for him to understand the steps he is going to be taking.

We cannot thank The Royal London Hospital Play team enough, who are phenomenal in every way.
We couldn't have done it without their support physically and mentally.
It has been more than we could've asked or hoped for as a family.
Thank you again, you are a huge asset to the children's hospital."

In short, Dayaan is a real fighter and even though he and his family have been going through very challenging times, he remains upbeat, positive, and excited about Christmas.

When Dayaan was asked what toy he would like from Father Christmas this year, he simply replied - a red Lamborghini!!!!

Fundraising Dinner At Manzi’s To Support The Royal London Hospital Children’s Wards 🎅🎄🎁🌟

Wonderful Communications arranged a fundraising dinner in support of The Royal London Hospital Children’s wards during the festive season.

A delicious menu with a festive twist was enjoyed by all and included mouthwatering dishes such as Roast Bronze Turkey served traditionally garnished and a heavenly Christmas Pudding with brandy ice cream and creme anglaise.

It was all smiles and laughter as our guests participated in a mini quiz on the night with Secret Santa prizes up for grabs.
The excitement levels continued to rise and literally went through the roof when the main raffle prizes were drawn and the lucky winners were announced.

A massive thank you to all our remarkable guests who attended the dinner for your kind and generous donations on the night.
Your generosity will ensure many children and young patients will be smiling over the Christmas period.

Proceeds from the dinner will help purchase brand-new toys, games, gifts, and treats for the children, young patients, and their families who will be staying on the wards at The Royal London Hospital during the yuletide season.

A Brilliant Evening At Bounce Farringdon

We arranged a showcase event and mini-tournament for a group of corporate professionals at Bounce Farringdon.

Located a short walk from Farringdon station, and is certainly the home of ping pong.
This truly is a delightful playground with state-of-the-art facilities that didn't disappoint.

Guests were treated to a dazzling drinks reception followed by a selection of heavenly canapes, pizzas, and delectable bites.

The mini-tournament was a fast and furious affair, which saw guests exhibit their ping pong skills via a series of lively individual and group games.

The stakes were high on the night and were played in a fierce but friendly manner while officiated by the excellent Bounce Game Guru.
Who knew ping pong could be so competitive?

In summary, we had a lot of fun and all the guests had an outstanding experience at Bounce Farringdon which is an ideal venue to host an offsite, conference, away day, or team social.

Quincy Jones - Tomorrow (A Better You, Better Me)

It's so sad to hear of the passing of the legendary musical genius, Quincy Jones, may he rest in power.

He often set the bar so high, that he would often say that "Melody is God's Voice" - Amen to that!

But what I admired most about his inspirational life and flawless music was how he was able to create a variety of sounds across a number of genres that connected so effortlessly with a multitude of people from different backgrounds, generations, ages, and cultures.

Quincy Jones is responsible for some of the biggest songs and artists we are ever likely to hear or see, such as Michael Jackson's Bille Jean, Frank Sinatra's Come Fly With Me, The Brothers Johnson's - Strawberry Letter #23, and many others.

However, for me, it's the beautiful, melodic Tevin Campbell hit - "Tomorrow" that sums up the timeless greatness of Quincy Jones.

Here's a little snippet from this stunning song that resonates and speaks to me and so many people today.

If we try, we can fly to a whole 'nother place
all we need is belief and a smile on our face
We can go anywhere we want, any road we decide to take
and we're never, never, never too far from tomorrow today

To support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Wonderful Communications arranged a Wear It Pink fundraising dinner at The Wolseley City.

A big thank you to the Wolseley City team for making our fundraising dinner a memorable experience.

The Wolseley City is a spectacular restaurant with jaw-dropping high ceilings and striking decor that exudes class at every corner. The menu for the evening was created by the talented Chef team and it was simply divine, full of inspirational dishes that exceeded our expectations.

Our gorgeous guests dazzled in pink and our table shone brightly to celebrate the breast cancer cause. The evening reached fever pitch and excitement levels were sky-high when the raffle prizes were drawn and the lucky winners announced.

We raised £1,100 in less than three hours on the night which was remarkable and a superb effort from everyone involved. Huge thanks to all our awe-inspiring guests who attended the dinner for your kind and generous donations on the night, your generosity knows no bounds.

All the funds raised are in aid of Breast Cancer Now which will go a long way to helping the charity to continue their excellent work, research, support, and care for anyone affected by breast cancer.

We dedicate this post to all breast cancer survivors.

The Shard & Shangri-La London Glow In Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

At the beginning of October 2024, The Shard's spire lights sparkled gloriously in pink to highlight the commencement of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

This is the fourth year that The Shard has joined forces with Shangri-La The Shard, London to help raise awareness on this significant cause.

If you get the opportunity to visit Shangri-La The Shard, London during October you'll be greeted by bright, dazzling pink floral-inspired décor.

Several pink-themed dining experiences are on offer at the hotel such as a Pink Afternoon Tea at TĪNG Restaurant, Pink Sky Brunch on Sundays at Sky Lounge, or the must-try Pink Hope cocktail at GŎNG Bar.

A percentage of the proceeds from the pink-themed dining experiences will be donated to Guy’s Cancer Charity.
