We are delighted to welcome the extraordinary Djabbar, known as Jabbaristan, as one of our Special Guests for SPOKEN’s 7th Anniversary .

Born in Urfa, East , into a Kurdish family, Djabbar’s journey is a rich tapestry of , , and . Growing up immersed in the sounds of Kurdish, Anatolian, Gypsy, and traditions, he began his musical exploration as a traditional musician. Over time, he fused these roots with innovative styles, creating a unique blend that resonates across generations and borders.

Djabbar’s journey took him from busking in Istanbul to global stages, including his pivotal role in the renowned band The Turbans, where he brought the soul of the Middle East to the Western world. In 2019, The Turbans graced the legendary West Holts stage at Glastonbury, captivating audiences with their electrifying .

Now based in , Djabbar continues to share the wealth of musical knowledge he has gathered from his travels across Turkey, India, and beyond. His artistry is a celebration of fusion and a testament to the power of music to transcend boundaries.

We are thrilled to welcome Arkadia, a vibrant and electrifying force in the world of spoken word, FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME as featured artist for SPOKEN’s 7th Anniversary celebration.

is rapidly carving out his place in the London poetry scene, and we couldn’t be more excited to showcase his incredible talent on this milestone occasion.

With 14 years of writing experience, made his unforgettable debut in January 2023 and has since become one of the most exciting voices in spoken word.

In just a short time, he’s won two poetry slams, joined the renowned FLOpoet collective, and graced stages across London, leaving audiences captivated by his powerful performances. His work has been featured in Kite String 2, further cementing his position as a rising star.

Known for his electrifying flow, masterful rhyme schemes, and sharp wit, Arkadia takes listeners on a journey through his life with poetry that blends insightful wisdom and raw emotion. His performance is more than just a reading; it’s a whirlwind of creativity that commands attention and sparks reflection.

Arkadia's voice is one that cannot be ignored. His captivating performances are an experience to be felt—one that challenges and inspires, resonating deeply with the human experience.

SPOKEN is turning 7, and we’re marking this milestone with a night to remember! For seven incredible years, SPOKEN has been a space where voices come alive, stories unfold, and connections are made. We’ve journeyed through inspiring poetry, unforgettable performances, and a vibrant community that continues to grow.

This year, we’re excited to join forces with the  Collective, a group of radical, edgy, and accessible poets committed to conscious awareness and social justice.

Their performances will bring raw energy and thought-provoking words to the stage.

 will be in the building with powerful sketches and theatrical performances. Together, we’ll reflect on our collaborations over the past year and share our exciting plans for the future!

We’re also proud to support  a local organisation based in Tottenham that’s working towards a fair food economy, ensuring that healthy food is accessible to all. We’ll be raising awareness for their incredible work as part of the celebration.
